DreamCatcher4815162342
Yeah, that's the one I tried activating, but I get a pop up saying "Windows cannot open this file" use web browser to search for program or choose from a list. And I have the self-installer Wrye Bash, so I don't think I messed up the installation process.
DreamCatcher4815162342
Okay, I had to install Python and the other things, now I understand why you said it was a lengthy install, alright, so I got it working, is there an easy way of using this, or do I need to know everything about everything? Im seeing mostly green, a few orange and 4 red
DavidBudreck
Just a couple of basics. 1st, load order can be controlled with Wrye Bash by selecting or unselecting the "Lock Times" option when you right click in the bar just above where all the mods are listed. You edit this by holding Control and Up or Down Arrow, or by right-clicking and selecting File --> Redate. To create a Bashed Patch, first you need to copy the blank one from his Mopy folder into your Data folder, then select "Rebuild Plugin" by Right-Clicking on the file. This will bring up a bunch of options. Just go through them and read the descriptions. He also includes a pretty good Help file in the Mopy folder as well. There is no "Best" way to make a Bashed Patch because the options are to suit your taste. I just did the basics the first time, then read a little more every time I did it. At the bottom of his screen, one of the little icons is "Mod Checker" Do this frequently, like every time you add a mod or change things around. Once the mods are merged into the Bashed Patch, they no longer need to be in the data folder. I move mine out of the way, but you can leave them there if you want to. I put them in a separate folder; you will need them every time you rebuild a patch. That part is a pain. You have to rebuild your patch pretty much whenever you remove a mod that was active when the patch was last rebuilt. That part is also a pain. The other very nifty thing Wrye Bash can do is import faces from other save games. Be careful about going to wacko with this, like downloading other people's saved games to get the faces. This only works if you have all the extre beauty/race/eyes/hair things that the face you're copying from has, and can potentially make your savegame unplayable because it crashes as soon as it loads. As always, save a copy first...
DreamCatcher4815162342
The "Rebuild Patch" option is not highlighted, its checked off and green, but I cant rebuild it. The step process asks me to "rebuild your bashed patch, selecting...) Ive never made a bashed patch,, or ever had one, so how do I rebuild it if I never had one? DavidBudreck
I remember something like that, but I'm sorry I don't remember what I did. It was just mucking around with things, however, not anything mind-blowing. Check the documentation. Make sure a copy of the Bashed Batch is in your Data Folder, and check the other settings. DreamCatcher4815162342
Okay, I made the batch patch...apparently, not much happened, I imported the cells from the natural.esp, SI, and interiors, as said by the step process, and...apparently its done. The game loads with the mod activated, so...now its just time to wait and see what happens, if there are any crashes and such. Much appreciated for the quick responses. DavidBudreck
Excellent! Now that you're a Bashing Whiz, time to think about FCOM...
DreamCatcher4815162342
I dont know, too many overhauls may mess up my FPS, even with OBSE and Streamline, and That guard overhaul mod seems to be fine right now, I brought it up because there is some other mod/overhaul that acts similarly to it. dont know which one it is, regardless, maybe later ill try FCOM, lol
