dragon6510
My brother readed all the books and comics - he says they are good, I agree, every great game or movie is based on even greater book so go for it!
Vindekarr
Mass Effect isnt based on a book though,,, Personaly I gave them a go, but I really think they're on par with twighlight. If you want good literature in that genre, try Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett, that guy is a master writer and worldbuilder, and that's one of the finest scifi you'll ever see, not to mention, the finest book-based-on-a-game you can find. Dont take my opinion on this too seriously-I am a writer myself and have brutaly high standards for book's and game's quality of writing, and for me, Mass Effect on the whole came up subpar and un inspiring. I think my biggest problem with it is the general blandness of it all. It NEVER seems to push the envelope any more than it absolutely has to-it's very polished, I admit that fully, but it does absolutely nothing new, has relatively uninteresting visual and audio styling, and even the aliens and planets are a bit trite and if not entirely based on something from antoher scifi, are pretty similar to something from another scifi. And lastly, the voice acting on the protagonist-flat and emotionless monotone, and those HORRIBLE bondage outfits that served for armour. No, I'm no fan, of either the books or the games. I know this will be controversial, but it's just my two cents, not everyone likes mass effect...

Vindekarr
Well his in the military. Have you ever seen a emotional solider? In my SG(guild) in COH, we had six former US marines and two currently serving troopers. And yes, they did show plenty of emotion-they were very politicaly astute, typicaly very intelligent, but also very quick to point out what they disagreed with and showed a lot of emotion. They were also lively had no fears about letting you know if you'd ticked them off. So yeah, I've met emotional soldiers.
brokenergy
I have too, I know the difference. When you are in a mission, you can't be a comedian Vin. I'm sorry that you didn't like ME that much but you should let it all go and move on. Forget about it, don't even mention it. It doesn't mean you have to bash others because they like it.
