Bashed Patch error

Hello,

 

I just reinstalled Oblivion and downloaded a bunch of mods. Right now I have every single one disabled, and I'm trying to rebuild the bashed patch. Halfway through I get the following error:

I've tried deactivating and reactivating the Vilja mod via OBMM and that did not resolve the problem. Does anyone know what I should do? Thanks!

If you are running on Windows Vista or Windows 7, then User Access Control, or UAC, is and always will be an issue.

 

If this is the case, it is highly recommended that you reinstall the game to a different location like c:\Games\Oblivion

Thanks for the reply. My game actually is installed to C:\Games\Bethesda. I'm not really looking to "reinstall" per se. I have all of the mods that I was using before (some of them updated) plus a lot of new mods such as the companion Vilja. In the event that I can't sort everything out, I do have my original installation backed up. I switched the filepath of the OBSE launcher from the new installation to my backup installation and it launched just fine in the exact state that I had before getting a new HDD. Now I want to use all of the new/updated mods, which is where I'm getting the Bashed patch problem. If I can't resolve it I'll just go back to using the backup installation.

I have to ask the stupid question, but are you only checking the options in the Bashed Patch for vanilla Oblivion with everything disabled? This includes the "Leveled Lists" and "Race Records."

 

I'm not sure what you mean. I have all esps disabled, and I rebuild the bashed patch to include all of the files which it sees as mergeable. I fixed the vilja problem by removing a vilja associated mod that it was trying to merge without having the core vilja esp activated. However, it now crashes to desktop half a second after startup with the patch enabled. With the patch disabled it is stable. I have my Wrye Bash report here:

It says I'm missing Vile Lair, which I have paid for but cannot install (running windows 7 x64). I'm not sure which file requires that as a master or if that's even the reason it C2Ds. Any ideas?

Going by that, and since I can't think of any mods either, I think what's looking for Vile Lair is your Bashed Patch. Perhaps that's dreadfully obvious and the point of your whole post. If so, sorry for redundancy. But the format makes it look that way. So double-check your Bashed Patch settings, maybe you've a dependency there?

The merged mod from Harvest [Flora] above is why you need DLCVileLair,esp.

 

By the way, I am running win7 x64 with DLCVileLair perfectly happily. It's very likely that you had a load order issue between it and one of your other mods. Acquire and use BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) to help out with your load order problems.
