[WIP] White Valley Research

I'm officially into my baby quest mod as Al would say. It's exploration and dialogue based but is probably going to take as long to play as it did to script which was about thirty minutes.

It's a semi lore friendly surrealist piece, inspired by Portal and 2001. The Courier really needs to avoid mysterious underground messages.

The primary antagonist is vile, and there are silly adult themes explored.

I just got over the hump doing fully voiced and lip synced dialogue for the one character with interactive conversation options. This was a milestone -- it's only about fifteen lines, but anyone familiar with the GECK knows "It puts the FUN in FUNCTIONAL!" Or, better, "You can't spell 'functional' without 'FUC!'"

I recorded one other insane vituperator and have one other branch of dialogue to do for the NPC. Then there's Frank.

Anyone who can point me in the direction of NPC dialogue over loudspeaker would be a saint. There are going to be a lot of triggers and lots of disturbing screaming.

I can probably do minimal beta testing since the thing is pretty contained and will use very little in the way of external assets. Anyone interested in contributing can hit me up here.

Wish me luck, guys!!

Do you just need an example to look at? When you first enter the Repconn test site, the player triggers the NPC Chris to speak over the nearby loudspeaker.

BTW, my personal theory is that the GECK is a Vault-Tec experiment designed to test the limits of modder's frustrations.

Oh, not like that. I was going to have the VO going while the player was moving around. I just don't want it to fade out at points.

Doh. Elijah does that s#*! constantly, the useless bag. I'll check Dead Money.

I went to Freesound this morning, this is becoming less and less black comedy and more and more military torture simulation.

Also found candidates for a hectic birthday song. This is relevant. Anyone with any suggestions for a high-tempo rendition of Happy Birthday, the more frenetic, the better.

Can you use the same trigger twice with an if/endif block? I want to have one VO play one time, lead the player through something back into the same room, then play another when they hit the trigger after passing through another trigger.
