FrozenORB
So i want to reinstall windows and don't want to go through the long process of installing all the mods that I have and made to work near perfectly. So if I backup Program files/Oblivion and My documents/My games/Oblivion and then overwrite the clean install, will it work the same way as my current install? Fonger
at the very least the registry entries will be missing Make certain you re-install the game (to get the registry entries) before you "restore" the directories.

bben46
Save your /data folder & Save games folder. If you have not made any hardware changes, and have some ini tweaks - then you can save the original ini.You will need to reinstall the game, and any other programs such as the CS, OBSE, OBMM, Wrye BashWhen you reinstall, be sure to start and make a save, This will regenerate the ini file to include any hardware changes. such as a new video card.If you use SI, install it. again make a save. Then patch (if needed)Now copy the data folder back and allow it to overwrite the new one. also copy the save games folder and allow it to overwrite the new one. Don't forget to update your drivers before reinstalling the game - especially video & audio driversAlso you may need the dot net updates
