batesmotel34
Dual wield weapons will never be possible through standard TES ...So I guess Daggerfall was just a weird dream I had, right? If all you want for dual wield is to be able to have a weapon in each hand but only able to use one at any given time then Daggerfall had dual wield. But how is that anything more than a quick way to change a weapon like you can do with the shortcut function keys in Morrowind and Oblivion? While I think both Oblivion and Morrowind would benefit from having more shortcuts available, I'll take either one's short cuts over the Daggerfall "dual Wield" way of switching between two one handed weapons. GBHis
Seriously. The scripting engine is the major thing that needs redoing. EVERYTHING you can change with the CS should be accessible from scripts. And we should have loops, do..whiles and wait(milliseconds)! We should be able to put in our own types of items, too.
Priest Caiaphas
Actually a couple of months ago I posted an exclusive interview with Pete Hines regarding TESV. Here is a copy for your convenience. So, give us the general outline of TES V Ok! You control the Breton Warrior-mage-thief Aragimli! He’s a wise cracking street smart warrior on a quest to find the might jewel of Azamunth. You progress through ten levels collecting weapons and offensive spells. It’s so great!!! Can the player create or name their character? No, due to new software developments we had to scrap this feature, we are trying to appeal to a broader audience who we felt were getting too confused with the character creation process of previous titles. Ok...what sort of new features are you implementing in terms of immersion and roleplaying? Well, the player can collect weapon upgrades and select from a wide choice of staffs that shoot a special kind of green energy thing. Oh they must also find crystals to recharge their weapons. However, in order to get upgrades, they must purchase the essential shop plugin, or else the game is pretty much unplayable. Why not include this plugin with the whole title? Hey! Did you know we got Rowan Atkinson to do the voice of the player character??? WOW! Ok, moving along then, any new skills for the players? No, due to latest technologies and conflicts with our new ULTRA ™ engine, we have had to condense the skills. All weapons now full under Weaponry. Everything else falls under Non-Weaponry. So...just two skills? Hey WOW! Did I mention you now have two AI controlled sidekicks? You gotta keep them alive or else there is an automatic reload...of course there is only one save slot that cannot be named at all. So it should be quite a simple procedure. Yeah, sidekicks...we heard rumours of a PC romance? Yep, the player has no control over it though, it is with Shilandaranana, the wood elf female and is played out through lengthy cutscenes. How are you planning to deal with issues concerning violence and nudity in this new title? Well, now when you ‘defeat’ (we do not like the term ‘kill’) a Daedra, he disappears in a puff of smoke and a dialogue box pops up to tell you that he is going to be ok and is actually going to Daedra heaven. With regards to nudity, you cannot remove or change your armour, so no problems there right? OK GREAT! Will players still be able to customise and add new material in the game using the construction kit? Sure! Once they purchase the kit online for an extra $49.99 they can implement incredible changes, such as turning rain on and off and renaming some of the rocks in the scenery. So, when can we expect this stellar title? TES V will maybe be available tomorrow...oh, wait, wait, scrap that. It just got pulled back for tweaking, something about the two skills conflicting. OH and it will only be available for the Nintendo Wii. WOW!!!! HAHHAHA that's good joke. It was kind of a give away at the beging though when you said an "exclusive interview". Indeed, but you forgot additional equipment slots, radiant AI, more scripting funcrions in general, and some .nif .kf exporting tools. I said the scripting engine needed redoing. That means everything :)Agreed. And we would also like the ability to put Assembly-code in our scripts, so that we could access everything the game-engine could. Viruses? Well, yeah, users gotta' check mods before using them :) -GBHisPS: Lots of shortcut-keys. There's only eight. Neverwinter Nights had like ... 36! That's one of the reasons I'm still playing that heavily. Tough being at least five years older, it's much more handy than Oblivion. PPS: Stampede, you rock. You're one of the coolest guys I've seen on these forums. Respect to you; I tip my hat.
sleaaels
LOL Stampede, that was hilarious! Espeically the delay caused by the two skills conflicting. There are some truths in this comical skit which is; It really feels like those bastards are milking the consumers as much as possible. tshroom
I don't think I am ready for TES V. I would rather see them release a full on expansion with the inclusion of werewolves, more weapon/armor types, new enemies, and new intruiging areas to explore. Sure the official downloads are decent enough for the price, but honestly.. Where are the werewolves?
Demoricon
It would be pretty wicked if they had the game take place in both cyrodiil and morrowind, and have the items from both games put in along with new Dark Brotherhood sanctuaries, and like multiple kinda main quest lines. but i wish that they would not bring back cliffracers those things were gay. I guess they gonna release a new province(already in game, but you can go, you know what I mean) (well duh  ) I hope they keep the Dark Brotherhood since it had the funnest quests in the game, really. I doubt it will be released THAT soon tho... It took them about 4 years to make oblivion, so...
