I finally figured out how to get some mods working and was enjoying the game with quite a few of them but I would often crash to desktop randomly. I had about 50 or so mods installed using OBMM. The game runs fine for a while then crashes, it's kind of a pain. I did a clean install and then loaded mods in a certain order:

unofficial patches > texture mods (qarl's/bomrets/improved trees and flora) > UI changes > world additions (bananasplit better cities/unique landscapes/etc.) > gameplay changes (oblivion xp/etc.) > and finally the game improvements (oblivion stutter remover/lowpoly grass/optimized distant land)

Now when I load these up in OBMM sometimes I'll get a popup saying replace "x" with "x - associated with mod x". Usually I'll just say yes to everything but is this what is causing my crashes? Could it be that I'm installing them in a wrong order?

Crashes are just part of Oblivon, period. Take a look at the first topic on this page. Pinned. It is there for a reason :(

I have two suggestions.

#1 is get and run BOSS, this may very well fix some or all of your issues wihtout having to go through the rest.

#2 is list your entire load order. There are people here that can spot problems just by looking at it.

Not necessarily. There are a lot of mods out there that BOSS doesn't recognize. Can you perhaps post your load order? That'd make it easier, methinks. Also, you may wanna request that a moderator moves this to the Tech Support forum.

Hi,

If nothing else helps, remove Quarls. I had to do that on my rig, became much more stable after that.

With Quarls the IC Waterfront was not accessible at all for me :-)

If you look at my Profile you will notice that my rig is not that bad. ;-)
