Zion Tribal Tatoos

So I'm playing through Honest Hearts at the moment and I thought it would be cool if you could get inked up like the tribals. Perhaps new dialogue (I really don't care about voice acting) could be added to an npc that would do it for you as a mark of gratitude for helping the tribe. Personally, I wouldn't want anything too crazy, just something around one eye or on the arms to signify the whole 'honorary member' thing. When you speak to the tattooist, it could bring up the menu you use to edit your character, like when you use hairdressers/surgeons, but the only option would be choosing tattoos. Would that be possible?

Tats are tricky if your not willing to create a custom race for the player, and that custom race creation can have some disastrous effects (as in really fubar your pc) if the player implements it wrong. Your basically doing a bit of console hacking.

 

I started on a workaround to a custom race/texture;

But it has some issues with close fitting outfits. It was nice though since you could easily change tats via script. However I think it would probably be ill suited to a face tat, but I could look into it for you.

. I'd copy parts of the textures from the HH races, and make a new texture and a new race. You'd have to do the custom race change (I can give you instructions). But I'm pretty busy and I have no idea when/if I'd be able to get to it.

 

It might also be possible to use decals to do it, but since I have zero knowledge of the subject I could only guess.

The tatoos were already made in honest hearts, the essence of what that mod (that you linked to) does is simply mark the tribal races as playable races (there may be some additional features of the mod, but that is its central function). Nor is the mod suitable for a existing character (rather it's intended for new characters, when your choosing your race), the info in my post is applicable for a current PC.

 

When I mentioned about editing the texture it was in reference to ljenk's comment;

because s/he didn't want the full texture but rather a little part of it.

I see I just thought that with showracemenu command a person could switch the character over to a tribal to get the tattoo's. I reread the OP and I see what you mean now, my bad.
