Kurupt52
ok, im sure that this has been asked many times, but either a, i cant find the forum post, or i have found similar post, but its been garbled with other replies that have nothing to do with what im needing to know. Keep in mind im just barely dipping into trying my hand at modding and editing Dragon Age.. so heres my question. I have a face on a current character of mine, that i want to restart from the beginning of the game, and want the EXACT face morph of the existing character on the new character. How do i do this, if anyone can shoot me in the right direction to a tutorial or forum post it would be greatly appreciated. Again sorry for a repeat of a question im sure that has been asked and answered many times over.
DarkeWolf
http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=449except that in this case you're wanting to take an OLD savegame and place the morph into a NEW one. So just reverse those to pieces of the instructions ;)
Sebiale
Can you use the method in the link to determine which choices you would need to make to replicate a certain face morph? Is there some way to interpret the values to that effect? Especially if you have character creator mods running?

DarkeWolf
Kurupt, no problem at all, am glad that I could help you out :) Sebiale- well.... that gets a little bit complicated. But the short answer is no :(Ok, there are 3 types of morph files. .mrh .mor and .mop .mrh are the main files. those are the ones created in the toolset, which have ALL the morph information in them. Its the .mrh files which .mor and .mop files are created from..mor files are what are used for character faces. This is what we use to have faces on our created characters, and our NPC characters..mop are preset morphs, for using in the character creator. .mor and .mop files come out in a different format than they do in the .mrh files. In the .mrh file, stuff like what face is used, the tint used, the hair used, eyes color and stuff like that, are in clear text. such as ef_har03a or whatever. And a lot of that can be edited in the toolset with either drop menus, or sliders.however, in a .mor file its all code. All numerical. so the hair code that I exampled before would be more like 12345678 (not that figure, just pulling one outta thin air). Which will NOT be excepted as acceptable input in a .mrh file..mop (preset faces) files are pretty much nothing. Can't do very much of anything with them. :( Character creator creates .mor files. So about the only way that you'd be able to replicate it would be to open that file, and another .mor file in the toolset and then copy the values used from one, to the other :( I guess what I'd really need to know is what is it that you're trying to accomplish? Depending on what it is, there MIGHT be an easier solution. Newbypower created a script that can do some things with face morphs. But not knowing the end goal, I dunno if it would be able to help you out or not :(http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=
Sebiale
I created a character a short time ago that had this really even tone of black skin, unlike most black skins which get pretty splotchy. It's not really pitch-black, more like grey-green black, but I like it. Liked the skin color, but I thought other parts could use work, as usual, the problem is that I really only realize this once I've looked at them in-game. (No zoom option -.-) But I can't remember or figure out the combination of tone and complexion I used to get the skin to look like it does. :( I'm running:Bidelle's StudioCC's Tints & TonesChargen PackageMore HairstylesPineappletree's Vibrant ColorsIf it matters, I used the Compiler to get all their chargenmoprhs working together. I'm not sure if there's a mod that functions as a character creator in-game, couldn't find one, but I'm not really sure how to search for it either. I included a screenshot of the skin color I'm trying to create.
DarkeWolf
Ahhhh I see! Yeah, thats not a bad looking skin for your drow guy there!Ok, here's what I'd probably say that you wanna do. Create your new character, using the areas of the morph that you wanted to improve. And once you've got him perfected, run the face replacer tool that I linked above, to extract his .mor file.then, use the replacer tool to extract the .mor file from the one that you've got the pic of. Open both files up in the toolset. Since both of them will be .mor files, they will both be using the same type of inputs. Compare and edit as necessary, then save the changes to whichever character you prefer ;) Now also, you have to extract those .mor files from their savegame files. So you'll need to play them both to a point where you can create the savegame. Saves are stored in documents/bioware/dragon age/characters/saves/ --- "CharacterName" That should get you going. I wish, that I could say that it would be easier.... to just throw that input into a new morph in toolset. However, like I said before, to create new morphs, the input is filename. Where mor files store it in binary (numerical). Which means you cant use it :(And if you wanted to create a .mop (preset face) file for it, you'd have to start from scratch in the morph creator of the TS :( And unfortunately, the TS is the only tool that we've got AFAIK (As Far as I Know) that is capable of making .mrh files :( But I hope that this helps :) And definitely good luck with your dark elf :) Edit- and yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about, with the CC (Character Creator). I end up being disappointed with a LOT of the character's looks that I create in there. They look good in the CC, then when I play them, they end up looking like crap  I did a personal mod that turned Zev from male to female, and used the CC to create the face morph. It looked pretty good in the CC, but it ended up looking a WHOLE lot more masculine in the game. I wanted him to look female, not as a crossdresser! :pinch: hahahaA lot of peeps recommend making the morphs for them in the TS, and then using the tutorial, or the Replacer to put the face onto the character afterwards. RustyBlade
I'm not sure if there's a mod that functions as a character creator in-game, couldn't find one, but I'm not really sure how to search for it either. It is not a mod, it is a console command. Open the console, type runscript chargen 0 and you get the character creation screen. I could be wrong on this but I do believe it resets your character to level one so you will need to cheat to bring your character back up to where he was. If you don't mind starting the whole game over, type in runscript zz_char_creation and when you are done you are back at your origin.

DarkeWolf
runscript chargen 0 allows you to import a character from the CC or just start up from scratch. However, when I try it on mine, the game crashes. So dunno what to tell you there :(runscript zz_char_creation comes up "no such script found" so no help from ME on that one either :( But VERY interesting approach Rusty, good work with the suggestion! *mumbles about needing to familiarize self more with the console commands*
