win 7 and 64bit

Win 7 Pro 64 here and it works fine. I installed it to the default directory and everything is working flawlessly (modding/stability/etc), but other people have reported an inability to install mods (probably due to the 'UAC' system in Windows 7), so you should install it to another folder outside of program files. For example, C:/Games or something.

I have been playing and modding Oblivion & Fallout 3 on Win7 x64 since it first came out. It has run better, faster and with fewer crashes that it did on my older WinXP 32 bit system.

One recommendation is to NOT install in the default location due to UAC protection. (there was no UAC on XP, and both Oblivion & Fallout3 were made for XP)

Instead create a new folder and install it there - I use C:\Games\Oblivion and C:\Games\Fallout3. and for any steam versions, you can reinstall the steam client to use C:\Games\Steam - and all of your steam games will be installed there, also out of the control of UAC

You can install it to the default directory and then disable UAC for the Oblivion folder. To do so, right-click the Oblivion folder, click Properties, select the Security tab, click Edit, select Users from the top list box, check Full control in the bottom list box, and apply these settings. Make sure you have nothing in the Oblivion folder open when you do this, or else it won't apply the new permissions. You can do this for any other program you have installed.
