Hey, I have a problem with Oblivion ( duh ),

I install Oblivion on my PC. I start it, everythings ok. I create a new character, start playing. I'ts ok so far. But then, when I start exploring the world, suddenly... Nothing. I mean, i walk, walk, walk and suddenly theres... Welll... Nothing! It says at the top of the screen: You can't go that way. It just pops out of nowhere. I turn of the game, then turn it on again. And you know when you turn the game on, It shows you the menu, and theres a map at the backround... We'll, there isn't! And the music (the one when you turn the game on) doesn't turn of when I press New Game or Resume... It just keeps going! WTF!?!? At fist I thought it was because my PC is Vista, but I have a laptop to, and It's also Vista, but OBL works just fine there... I love the game, I really want to play it on my PC, so can anyone please help me?

Thank You, Nero

OK: what you need to do is firstly to try a full re install.

What you need to do is to go into Documents and find the Oblivion folder. delete it and everything in it. Then uninstall oblivion. Then delete your entire Oblivion install folder and everything left in it. Obliterate every trace of this game.

Now re install, and when you do, change the directory. Set the directory to be simple :D/Oblivion or something like that, dont use the defualt directory. Try that and see if it works, it did for me.

If it refuses to install - due to a couple of windows registry entries that will be left behind if you do not use the uninstall on the disk - try this.

Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexus

http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240

It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice.
