Schranzer
...is a plugin that adds not only more people to the gameworld, but make them DO something... larger groups of monsters to be encountered, also fighting against heroes or a group of 'em. more hostile humans to be encountered in the open, mages doing their own thing. you get the idea - things just happening around you, for i find the gameworld still somewhat sterile, good ppl either standing in place or walking around town or spots... guards are still the funniest of 'em around. i can just imagine that this must be difficult to do, yet i (and many others hopefully) would enjoy such a plug.. so consider it, if you can do it. Darmoth
There are a few out there... But they tend to have a lot of conflicts, as well as the ones I've seen all add NPCs WAY... WAY too generic... such as "Mage", "Rogue", "Warrior"... In Morrowind, even the hostile bandits have names! ((EI, Godrod Hairy Breeks :D ))
thanateros
what you're talking about it the Advanced NPC mod. I used it for a while but then got sick of how generic it is, like you said. The the modder really wanted to make Vivec feel more populated they could have at least made the people interesting. You couldn't even talk about most things with them, only the expansion topics, and then you only get a 2 sentence remark on it. Any NPC mod that's made on this sort of scale first needs to spend the time to come up with a list of believable names and then add a slew of miniquests to keep the game interesting. The best mods out there are the ones where you can't tell whether or not it came with the original game. Having a handful of "commoners" wander around doesn't make for a good setting, in fact it detracts from it. I've contemplated taking someting like this on, the only problem is I'm in school ATM and the earliest I would be able to start is over the summer, assuming I'm not working at a national park, in which case who needs Morrowind when you get to hike around Yosemite all day and get paid for it? Marxist ßastard
Whoa, whoa... Let's not say something about Adventurer's NPCs that we may regret. Sure, you only get NPCs named "Mage," "Warrior," "Commoner," and "Rogue," but there are 20+ NPCs for each category, each one with randomly generated armor. It's supposed to have the feel of generic, insignificant people walking around and doing their own thing, as opposed to the original game, in which every NPC has a quest attatched.
