dedbunneez
Hey, I haven't really done much PC gaming but I want to start with Fallout: New Vegas since I loved FO3 on PS3. In the future, when I have more money I will build a rig but for now I am hoping I can just upgrade my wife's computer for $200-250. Here's what I have to start with: CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2200 @ 2.2GHzGPU: GeForce 7050RAM: 3GBPower: 450W I can't figure out the best way to go. I have been considering the GeForce 9800GT or the GTX 460 but:-I don't know how limited each will be by the CPU-I like the HDMI of the GTX 460 but my only HD monitor would be my 42in LCD TV. Would the resolution transfer over adequately. If I got the 1GB versoin to help with that wouldn't I also have to increase my power supply? Any advice would be helpful. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks.
mcole254
The gtx460 requires 450W minimum so you have just enough. The resolution should be fine as the card supports 1080p (1920x1080), so the resolution should be fine, you just set the exact resolution in the control panel. I do feel the video card the the best thing to upgrade on your system for gaming. If you plan to upgrade more on that system I would upgrade your PSU also. I am going to go with the GTX 460 since I can use that if I need to in my next computer.
Eltath
Thanks for the reply. I am going to go with the GTX 460 since I can use that if I need to in my next computer. Thats the exact GPU I'm going with, It looks great has a nice bit of power (depending on which one you get (I'm getting the 1gb version from gigabyte) And can do very well with 1920x1080 resoloution....
