ArdenRayer
I recently tried to take the .nif and .dds files from this mod... http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24838 and make a custom amulet with his meshes and textures. However, I can't seem to get it to work. I tried to take an existing amulet, change it's ID and name, then replace the .nif files but that didn't work. I know I am messing up somewhere, I just don't know where. The modder who made the mod I referenced said his work is open for anyone to use by the way. Hickory
Place the meshes in \Oblivion\Data\Meshes\MyAmuletMod\ and the textures in \Oblivion\Data\Textures\MyAmuletMod\ -- rename MyAmuletMod to whatever. Open up the CS and first create any enchantments, if any, then go to Clothing...Amulet and right click and select 'New'. Give the amulet a unique ID and a name. Set the weight, value and any enchantment. Select the 'Amulet' biped object. Under the male column, press add niff for biped model and world model -- the world model is the nif that ends _g.nif . You should navigate to your meshes\MyAmuletMod\ folder. Press the add icon image if you have copied the icon texture to \Textures\Menus\Icons\ . Press OK and save your mod. ArdenRayer
@Hickory. There is no _g.nif file in his mod. What his mod does, is replace the tongue in the face section of his custom made races, and replaces it with the .nif and .dds file for his Halo. I play a demon character that uses those slots for horns and don't want to replace them with the halo. That's why I'm trying to make an amulet out of it. Also, I tried your advice despite not having the _g.nif and placed it in a container in game. I went on, the object was in the container, but when I equipped it, No halo! I took off my armor to make sure it wasn't simply hidden because of my equipment, but still nothing!
Hickory
The halo mesh is created for, and attached to the tongue slot. You cannot simply call it an amulet and wear it, just as you wouldn't wear a tongue as an amulet.
ArdenRayer
How would one go about making it compatible to wear as an amulet?
Hickory
It could be done with NifSkope, but how exactly is beyond me, I'm afraid.
