c4w
Alright so, I wanted to give the FO3 GotY Edition a try and decided to play it with mods this time. And holy frack, FO3 is really messed up when it comes to applying mods. Anyway, after a full DAY (!) of installing mods I found my self confronted with the fact that the regular five storage units you get in your vanilla home just wont cut it anymore. On the other hand, I don't want to get lost in 'unrealistically' over-styled, over-the-top home bunker labyrinths at the edge of the map (needless to say: I disabled fast-travel to increase the level of immersion). So if you could save me the hours of searching, comparing and testing of post-apocalyptic real estates by recommending a home / hide-out mod that you think is right for me, I'd be more than grateful :) Currently installed Mods: - FOMM- AI- FOSE- FOIP - MMM- WMK- FWE - FO3 reanimated- Fellout- Type 3 Body- DarnUI 11- Lings coiffure (no PB for me >.<)- Lings things - Jessi- Kelsey- Brianna- Clover Perfected- Other Bittercup Any other recommendations are welcome as well :)
robertward203
that's a lotta mods... I would suggest the mini hideout, i don't know who the author is, but he's a genius. Just type that into the search thingy on the Fo3nexus. That mod has a workbench, manequins, katanas, some modern gun, 10ish storage places, a radio, ammo and first aid boxes that refill, a butler who can do plastic surgery, a jacuzzi, water purifier... loads of stuff. It's pretty small to, only about 1 room, a corridoor and a hidden tunnel

niccolo
that's a lotta mods... That's a lot of mods for a first-timer, yeah. But once you're hooked on Fallmod 3, vanilla Fallout will just seem too... bland. By the way, the author is one Rayek. Anyhoo, if you search "Hideout" there'll be about twenty responses (as opposed to the four billion in the Player Homes section) and some of them are really good. Alternatively, you could just go to the "Top 100" link on the right of the Nexus, click "top mods of all time" at the top and check out the two or three house mods listed on there... they're pretty flash. bethjunkie
I normally live in huge, over-the-top, vault-type homes with more rooms than I could ever use but my current character lives in My Tent. It's conveniently located on the Megaton side of Fairfax Ruins, has a couple dozen storage containers, a workbench and lab and plenty of room for multiple companions. competentfake
I'm checking out DantheGeek's Underground Hideout v.6.5: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9592. It's a lot bigger than the mini-hideout, with a bunch of similar features and a built-in ammo press, which helps take care of the hundreds of different types of CALIBR ammo you get with FWE. What it doesn't have is ammo boxes for CALIBR. Anyone know of a house mod that does?

Dad's Rivet City Room has a Calibr ammo press. It might sort Calibr ammo into its' ammo boxes too.
