All was going fine, and then...

Semi-newb to Fallout New Vegas, and I acquired Veronica as a companion and finally triggered her return to the Brotherhood of Steel bunker. When I finally reached the Elder's place after having a lookabout, well...

Yeah, apparently getting cockblocked by a screwed-up asset, assuming from one of my mods but I'm not sure what to even pinpoint as the issue :S

When posting problems on the forum, people will need a load order, not just a list of mods. You can use your mod manager to export your load order to clipboard. Then paste it in here.

This doesn't seem to be a load order problem, though. A red exclamation marks signifies that the game engine can not find the model for an object. The default model should be in one of the game's .bsa archives, so it couldn't have gone missing unless you messed with those somehow. It's more likely that some mod edits the model path for the object and didn't include (or you forgot to install) the model in the correct location. But I can not think of any mod that would do this.

Rightright. I'll copypost the load order lower down. And yeah, not sure what's up. Thought World of Pain might be the problem, as it reshapes various world assets but I don't think that modifies a lot of base assets beyond new dungeons on the World Map.

Try toggling archive invalidation off and back on in NMM.

Try un-installing Yukichigai's Unofficial Patch.

Try verifying game files through Steam.

Going through that list now, starting with verifying catch.

EDIT: No dice, did em one at a time and resulted in the same results as before :S

You should only be using one of these: AWOP DLC + GRA Conflict Error Fixes.esp=1

AWOP DLC Conflict Error Fixes.esp=1
AWOP NO DLC Conflict Error Fixes.esp=1

Pick the one that applies to your game and disable and uninstall the others.

After you have completed that, go through your load order and uninstall all the disabled plugins so that your load order can be read.

To find out what is causing the problem, go to the area and locate the object with the crosshair. When you have the name displayed at the top of the screen, open the consol and left click on the object. The name will appear at the top of the screen. Type "GBO" and the Base ID number will be displayed. The first two digits of the ID number will be the load order of the file that has the missing mesh. This is assuming you are using NVSE.

Cheers on the first part, I resorted the Load Order so the unused XSM modifiers got moved to the bottom so I can chop em out of the copypaste, and cut out the two conflict error bits.

Still got the error, according to the details GBO said our exclamation friend is 00066478 (<no name>)

Ok, new minor issue: 1 file failed to validate and was redownloaded, but a verify catche right after resulted in '1 file vailed to validate and has to be redownloaded'. Hrm.

There will always be one file that fails to validate.

Still got the error, according to the details GBO said our exclamation friend is 00066478 (<no name>)

So at least the object hasn't been replaced with anything, since it still has a vanilla form ID.

Like I said in my first post, some mod may have changed the model path for the object. To find out which, disable your mods one at a time and load the game.

A faster way is to use FNVEdit. Load up your entire load order and when the background loader is finished, enter the form ID into the field at the top left and press enter. That should show you all the mods modifying that object and allow you to see the file path for the model.
