Problem replacing bodies

Heya folks, new to this kind of modding and I could use some help :),

 

I recently tried to get HGEC to work by manually installing it (copy-pasting the .nif files I wanted into the meshes/ directory), but the game would still load the default models.

Is this a common problem, and is there any fancy solution to it?

Use BOSS to reorder your mod list, and create a Bashed Patch with Wrye Bash. The bash patch will pull all the graphics together. You should also use ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated so that the game will find any new meshes and textures.
