hlvr
I've recently reinstalled and reformatted my computer, and now I installed Oblivion once again. It's smooth, BUT I noticed some FPS-hit whenever I approached someone wielding a torch. This didn't happen with any other lightsources (fires, candles, etc). The FPS-hit was about 10 fps  . On average I have 45-60 fps in the Cyrodiil wilderness. I have these system specs: Geforce GTX 260Intel Core Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33 GHzWindows 7 Professional 64-bit4gb RAM I updated my video card drivers a few days ago to the latest; although I didn't uninstall the previous ones (which I got from Windows update). I checked NVIDIA's homepage and they siad, however, that there is no longer any need to uninstall previous video card drivers. So I guess that's OK. It should also be noted that I experienced a similiar problem before I reformatted my comp. At that time, however, the FPS-hit was biggest when I was in 1st-person wielding the torch. I don't recall having FPS-problems when NPCs were wielding torches. ANY help with this would be greatly appreciated by me, :( Thanks in advance, hlvr

hlvr
I thought about this before... that it could be linked to lights flickering. But it doesn't explain why I hadn't this problem before the reformat :SAnd my system specs are decent, so it's strange.I will try to disable lights flicker later, although I do enjoy the flickering; I think it brings atmosphere into the game. Therefore, it would really like to avoid removing it.Is there no other, possible solution? :/
