romeoalpha42
if i missed a house let me know but telvanni's got those iinteresting helms and cool tower like huts.. with spiralness. and hlaalu make good use of the bonemold armor as well as named after the king and they seem to be the biggest, and redoran have their stupid white things hanging from the curiass but what else is there.. why pick one of them. i was hlaalu in my last guy but that was only cuz they were in balmora so it was easier.. but what ones has the better advantage or which one is better for what kind.. does any of them matter or is it which is the cooler armor? this is bugging me. Marxist ßastard
Only houses Hlaalu and Redoran have their own style of bonemold armor. For House Hlaalu, it is called Armun-An, and for House Redoran, it is called Gah-Julan (translates to "great benefit," also the name of a slave at the Dren Plantation). These sets contain a pair of pauldrons, a cuirass, and a towershield. Hlaalu - Quests and rewards are most appealing to a stealth charachter and is easier to advance in, but is filled with absolute scum. House Hlaalu claims to be the most powerful house but is being ripped apart by infighting and has a particular faction within it that takes orders from Dagoth Ur. In Tribunal, members of the house attempt to overthrow King Helseth simply out of spite. The quests all involve causing a lifetime of suffering to someone to get an extra five gold... Architecture - Wood and sandstone. Completely and utterly boring. Bonemold - Armun-An - Pretty cool and looks good on a Necromancer, but not quite as practical as Gah-Julan Bonemold. Stronghold - Just your own tiny little walled compound overlooking Hla Oad. Has the benefit of location, but has people inside asking you if they can take away "the burden of your coin." Redoran - Quests and rewards are most appealing to a combat-oriented charachter, but is somewhat harder to advance in. Has some affiliation with the Temple, which is a mixed blessing because, while Ordinators won't hate you as much, you have to take quests from a Temple priest at on point in time. The Redorans are a pretty good house, but they are somewhat aristrocratic and are headed by a man who isn't so much evil as generally disagreeable. The quests range from significantly boring to monumental, and come from a variety of questgivers. Architecture - Very nice-looking. Undecorated exteriors, but extremely good interiors -- most structures done in Redoran sytle are constructed out of hollowed-out silstrider carcasses. Bonemold - Looks alright and has two extra helms -- the Redoran Founders' Helm and the Redoran Masters' Helm. Doesn't have the crotch-skull, but has a higher armor rating than other bonemolds. Has a piece of cloth hanging out from the top end of the cuirass. Stronghold - Pretty spacious and actually has the feeling of a village that is lacking in other strongholds. Built on the path from Maar Gan to Ald-Ruhn, so the location isn't that bad. Telvanni - Quests and rewards are most appealing to a magic-oriented charachter, but the entire house is full of skooma-addicted walking corpses like Mistress Dratha (look in the main tower of Tel Mora) and Mistress Therana (look in the main tower of Tel Branora). Architecture - You either like it or you don't. That's all I can say. Stronghold - A rotting mushroom in the middle of the Great Scathes, sandwiched between a camp for agressive ashlanders and two Dwemer ruins. Hardly paradise, and is as far away from civilization as you can get. However, there is an infinite capacity for storage and a few little trinkets that you may or may not find annoying. Marxist ßastard
...Just advance in the Great Houses and the subject will come up sooner or later when you ask for advancement. If you get up to Kinsman in House Redoran and want your own stronghold before you require it for advancement, talk to Galsa Gindu. She's in the Redoran Council Hall, which is under Skar and requires you to get through the Council Hall Entrance. And please post a tad bit more legibly. loveme4whoiam
With my last guy i completely ignored the Houses because Crassius Curio scared me so much. As a mage i would go for Televanni except that their architecture looks like an acid trippers nightmare. Redoran seems to be the best option then. Then i can kill that dodgy Crassius Curio :D
Marxist ßastard
...You need him for the main quest. The only group of councillors that you can ouright kill off are the Telvanni. There's a script attached to them so that if you end their suffering, you'll be proclaimed Telvanni Hortator by all the "surviving" Telvanni councillors. Peregrine
1) Yes, it is a long quest. Learn some patience.2) No, you still have to do the same quests to advance.3) I don't know.4) No. Once you join a house, that's your choice forever. Though I think there's a mod that lets you join more than one.
Malchik
Don't recogise that helm. I seek enlightenment.
Marxist ßastard
The Chuzei helm can probably be seen in or around Tel Branora or Tel Aruhn. Since its name follows the basic syntax of the two Great House Bonemold helms, Bethesda probably started developing a Bonemold for House Telvanni guards, but instead just gave them existing Bonemold pieces, a Banner Shield, and non-Bonemold helms.
