Rivet city crashing

Okay so...

I guess I'll install FWE and report back if it's caused any problems from a new game.

Should I then try to avoid mods made after 2010 Nov?

Edit 1: I downloaded and installed Mod Organizer 1.2.14, and it seems I already had Mod Organizer installed from when I tried my hand at modding skyrim. Now it's filled with skyrim mods. How do I clear it out?

Edit 2: I installed FOSE and FWE and managed to get past the alternate start shack to where it dropped me after choosing my history. So...horray I guess. First mod installed and working (so far).

Edit 3: I forgot to add this mod into my list. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6341/?

Can I add the DLC's from that seperate folder you told me to make now?

Sorry if I'm asking questions about stuff you've already covered, but...to be honest, I don't always follow what you're saying because your english isn't perfect.

Can I add the DLC's from that separate folder you told me to make now?

yes, the zipped up file acts as if you have a DLC mod with mo.

as far as mo is concerned, you can reinstall mo right now any where, into any folder, it does not need to be game sensitive or follow any special path.

it controls the games it was designed to control , not the other way around.

treat mo as if it were an office program or a notepad, ? understand ?

No games control mo, Mo controls the data used By the game, it's totally a separate program.

another way to look at it is IT injects data into the game from out of no where, it is a ghost, a phantom game controller, your personal steam.....server. you have to get this?

Mos name also does not need to called mo..your (skyrim MO) rename it's main folder to skyMo ok. inside it's internal folders where the mod folders is open that, in there there will now be the mistakes you just made. this is so easy to fix, thee really is nothing Too fix ! just drag the fallout3 mods folder out ...any where, and drop it into the fresh new mo you install.....

by installing a fresh copy, it will install to a default Mod Organizer name...see ? if you rename the existing one, then that will be left alone.

I had to go into work this morning so now I am back home.

just keep in mind, mo is your friend.

but, for mods that have fomod's you need to use the older version of mo, (1.2.14 has a problem, a ghost problem that for some reason will not install data from fomod's from time to time, it appears to make entries, folders and things but they contains nothing, no mod's....I am thinking it has to do with NCC part of mo, 1.0.10 works correctly because there is no loot, so all the pertanate data / scripts and things in the latest version are not there to cause problems.

you have to keep in mind, mo, was after all a skyrim project.....not a fallout project....so scripts and things pointed to things not found in fallout3.

heck, they don't even have a fomm for skyrim...this sort of highlights where things are and went.

getting confused in modding games is part of that game, it's easy to get lost in the swirl's of the tech world.

I poor you a clean glass, so you can see whats there.

copy and paste the instructions I posted for access to rivetCity market place, and test now if you can enter that world space, but...to prevent wrecking any game progress, do not save once inside....if you get in and no CTD ? alt+ f4 out of the game.

this will preserve the games structure, it's meant to keep your saved game clean. fallout 3 has a problem obeying the rules we make for it, we can script, disable, modify it to death, yet, every time a page loads, it saves the games progress, thee is NO work around other than deliberately leaving the game.

It's a bug, built into the engine, and it's not over ride able

find out if the "Op" is over ?

Okay so...

What I've done is, I took all the mods I wanted and dumped all the contents of data folders or the root folders into one "mods" folder, then zipped the mods folder, then used Mod Organizer (unfortunately the current version, I could not get the older version to install) to take the zipped mods and install them to the game. I deactivated the mods category in the left window, so all that was left was the base game, the DLCs, and FWE and its DLC plugins. After starting the game, I went to the market place and got inside without issue, though it was closed in the middle of the day to my confusion. It should only be closed at night?

Anyhow...now I'm going to test it using all the mods I installed. I hope this won't be a bad result.

Well, I'm playing the game with all my selected mods and things are going okay so far. I do get occasional crashes, but they aren't repetitive and unavoidable as the rivet city one had been. Every time I can just reload and try again and then I get past where the crash happened fine.

So I think this is as good as it's going to get. Thanks for all your help.
