Hell-fire
DAVE 7HE RAVE!!!! I have closed about 7 Oblivion gates so far, and i am already bored!!They are far too long, earlier today i had to do a ridiculassly (don't care about spelling) long one took at least 45 mins, even tho i can take down any enemy in about 3 hits with my enchanted sword.I started about a half hours run away from the tower with all the twists and turns, i also took a wrong turn which took me all the way around the tower to a dead end so i had to go back, that wasted about 5-10mins. They start to suck after awhile! I hate the top of the tower when you first get through the door and the wall look rubbish, horrible gray. They look like something off Duke Nukem not something from a "NEXT GENERATION" graphic game! :glare: But i do enjoy the very end bit were everything starts to fall apart - after taking the Sigil stone. It makes me want to do it again, until i get back inside the Jaws Of Oblivion!
Oddjobbob
I didn't even know where to go on my first oblivion gate and the guard who came with me magically died halfway through.
Mercbird
I got irritated after closing about five gates, and then just tried to finnish the main quest as quickly as possible. Which was a mistake as I never allowed myself to wander to all the interesting places and now that I can, I no longer want to. I mean when all your friends are dead, the empire and age ended and the country is now run by bureaucrats that tells you 'here's your armour thanks now *censored* off'. Are you going to walk around on roads so the guards can tell you ' The oblivion crises is over citizen'? My usual strategy was sneaking up, killing where neccecary and taking everything not nailed down. Got some satisfaction in taking their swords and staffs and using it against them and then selling it.
thursti
There isn't much to explore in the main quest. After the quests (for my evil character) I just run around killing guards and escaping the law (bah pathetic imperial legion freaks in greenish armor). This has forced me into exilation. (not sure if its a word)
Malchik
Hmm! You feel exilated? Does that mean you feel small or slender (from exility) or did you mean ex-elated? The word you seek is simply 'exile'.
dylandvillian
1.)my first few char. died in the oblivion regions but after i got the hang of the switch from console to PC i started closing gates and then i made it a point to try to close all of them because i heard that they infinitely re-spawn in new locations but this was a fallacy cause once i got through about 24 or 25 gates i finally noticed a pattern in the re-spawns of the gates. at this point i became bored. 2.) i like to hack and slash through them this way my fps doesn't drop off the face of oblivion the first come first served attitude that my char. has is quite cool(power left sweep is the coolest attack cause it looks cool when you smote deadra across the head and they fly in the appropriate direction. off the screen to the lower left side then i continue to the next daedric victim. if i were to try to sneak through the oblivion gates this would a,) make the gates harder to close and make it take a longer time. and b,) kill fps rate on the occasion when the deadra spot me in sneak mode and run up to me and usually by the time i deal with the first i have roused the twenty two total deadra and they all want the same thing and that is a drop in my fps. the two examples above are oblivion without modifications, if i wanted to cheat i could set my sneak really high, and never be seen and cause critical damage to everyone i attack. i would also modify my speed and athletics so that i can sneak much faster and not take more time but take less time. in any case if i get stuck anywhere in oblivion i simply tcl my way over to the towers and then i tcl out of flying mode and activate the door to the main tower easy. well i hope i didn't confuse you cause i confuse myself sometimes. Dungeonmasterdug
It actually sucks, you guys think there are RANDOM ones, what you dont know is that there are TONS OF THEM. lol oh man, I may be like uber rich, uber skilled, and what not, but i dont wanna close all 100 gates  seriously, ive found bout half of them, every 100 feet it seems like. I just go in, kill them all, take their armor, sell it. get richer...kinda fun really... for now..
thursti
your crazy, no offense. Who in their right mind would like oblivion gates (other then slaughtering daedra heartlessly and ripping their hearts out)?
m3lisk
I gues I'm crazy cuz there is quite a few benefits: 1. You get rocking sigil stone that can enchant, I had one that paralyzed the target of my bow for a few secs, which can help if outnumbered... 2. You get experience from the kill, plus athletics, acrobatics, etc. 3. I find TONS of valuable stuff, in those wierd pouches, heck I once found armor that was worth 1000, and that was lvl. 1 at first gate :D
