ah, now I understand whats wrong, your system has placed permissions on all the files in that location, that's why tesedit is "NOT allowed to Alter the files there"

Ok simple fix.

On the Root of the hard drive, make a new folder, any name you choose is fine, as long as you do not use any other programs to control the game, you can "Copy the files, all of them in the games folder to the new folder......every file, every byte.

once copied, leave on the the games Original folders there but delete all the loose files and archived in there. <-- you have them in the root folder now.

yeah, I thought so...you will have to run each program afterward to further fix the other programs. But...I want you to know, there is a possible chance the system may in fact lock all of those files on you..., your choice , and the location is Tortuous for this problem where the game is now.

If you have the hard drive space that is? So...first hand you have EXPERIENCED the faults of Windows and install ing games ....in the wrong places.

The argument is this. If the game copany says or directs the game to be installed there, are they also directing you NOT to be able to modify their work? the correct answer is yes, they never intended the game to be "altered" Modding alters where we must install the game "overrule their wishes and software programs"

"MODDING THE GAME" <-- Lot's of fun huh ?

so now you know the what and the why too. The system took over , not the programs. there is nothing wrong with tesedit at all or the mods with the exception of permissions on the files. They are currently locked. Move the game else where. and your home free.

I be Kitty Black.

Thanks. It mostly works. Now the problem is this:

http://i.imgur.com/gWSL35j.png

This error message is the reason there are thousands and thousands of posts on the Nexus telling everyone DO NOT install Fallout 3 to the default location.

I'm not really following on those instructions. Uninstall and install in, let's say, a completely custom folder? Would that do it?

what it would do is stop the Operating system from preventing the game and it's tools from functioning, it will allow things like this not to take place ,it will stop robbing you from game play time, it will no longer assign permissions to files for a game you intend to alter.

the threads here will Dry up and blow away like dust.

re-installing the game after you have installed it into it's default location leaves behind such an UnGodly mess, you will forever be fighting the system trying to re-establish a clean game, "because, the system registry already has those entries in it"

you would need to use a outside software programs to uninstall that game properly such as (http://www.revouninstaller.com/)

It has an advance method of removing all entries mostly from the system, junk the game has installed into hidden places that windows own installer will not remove.

How ever, there are other smaller bugs left by the installed application as well. still some reg keys are left behind, you need a registry cleaner that woks with that OS, and stay the heck away from flyby nights Bogus software's.

Uniblue is the best reg cleaner...but it's not free, ccleaner is for basic reg cleans.

(revouninstaller) has in it also a registry cleaner, but again, you must use caution, it has an evidence remove that is killer, very very thorough

yes that would do it..if you do all that comes with it.

My post , it's purpose was a prevention of having to go through all of that extra work. see, you have to know how it all works together.

If you ran a mother board auto configure program..and use a lot of extra devices like printers with key card reader's and extra USB drives, that program might shift path, data paths, reassign drive locations and software programs get lost, can't find the original installed paths. all sorts of hell takes place, so the safest methods remotely in ass far as giving out advice is to keep what you got and trick it to self maintain, keep it's cool as they say....got it?

I don't mind posting as long as the posts get some where.....If I am wasting my time here ,believe me, you would know it. kitty has a bite....but your up front so you get carblaunche .

I have red some of your history so as to not be here wasting my time. If you get anything at all from all of this, that's worth the time. understand?

The only thing we want is to accomplish a goal here .get you sitting there with a big fat smile. a good smile. a happy smile, as in gamers delights !

we are here to share knowledge.

Yeah, that sounds like too much. Hmm. Okay, so I made a new folder in C: called Whales for Wally.

"all of them in the games folder to the new folder......every file, every byte."

Do you mean Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3? Just the data folder? This is what I mean when I say I'm not following on those instructions.

every file contained with in the confines of fallout3 in to any folder of your choosing. the fallout 3 folder name will be no more, the engine does not care about it's content folder name, only the Data folder is important.

Video, music ,sound are sun folders.

Example of the data required:

Volume in drive J is TOSHIBA
Volume Serial Number is 1A1D-1401

1 file in the example is an accumulation of Gobs of mos and editing, the other one is the xlive control file, "gary62" it contains all the game traps, code, things that go bump in the night, tricks, in essence all the things you hate I use to make my game work right.

( GourgeousMother Of GodMod.esp) contains over 1300 mods Not all of it, only the data that is required....all duplicated data was removed.

the two mods contain all know mods you are aware of with the exception of mod overhauls, such as fook or FWE or things like that.

Those mods that have restricted usage rights assigned to them by the pages that contain the descriptions. Permissions set as source only are whats in it, none of the data I use has any restrictions in it.

It's a personal build not to be shared but contains only data I need to verify other mods with.

Gary, he he, that's the killer plug in. It has scripts I wrote that pop up in game telling me source codes from data rendering outside the bounds of the engine instead of crashing out.

break down any *.dll into cs code, assemble the code into game scripts, then load it up into the geck and determine what will or will not fly, adjust it so it will fly.

save and test, use it.

things like sally suddenly appearing out of no where, a zeta bug...she is impatient and wants you to go up to the zeta ship.....she scares me, she has a strange look about her, the voice acting intrigued me.

weird happen stances take place from the most unheard of combinations of the code cause total chaos in this game....catch it ,confine it, study it ,fix things to recreate it so you can remove the faults.

break it first then you can fix it. "Trick it to do your bidding, only you know whats real and whats not real. the software is only code that responds to a set of circumstances programmed. create your own circumstances and results.

testing live in game span points and the reactions of the PC's rates of data consumptions on the Unit I use.

Or results to an end....

I fight Gorilla war fare style, that means I need cover ,that means I need to be ale NOT to see the enemy before it's too late.

To do that, you need flora...to think you can just walk out in the open on a deserted surface devoid of plant life is like living on mars..sorry, this planet has oxygen, plant life and there is no stopping the shrubs and grass from growing up through concrete.

there fore .I render what must be.

you can not see 25 yards in front of you at night, better be prepared because this game is no cake walk.http://s26.postimg.org/9a11vb1u1/outcome_wanted.jpg
