Purr4me
Alright. And now how do I get FO3Edit to recognize where the new folder is?which version Do you have?where is it ?https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4rR0C-Bcx_JYUlqZjFRall6a28/view?usp=sharing Edited December 28, 2014 by Purr4me
panzersharkcat
I had the newest version from the Nexus. 3.0.32, I think it was. I just downloaded the one from the link. I have it on the desktop. If you mean the new place for the Fallout 3 folder, Whales for Wally, it's in C:.
Purr4me
rename the new one appropriately and copy the edit folder into the games root. where the exe is location at.C:\users\(username)\Apps\fallout3\Plugins.fo3viewsettings <---That you delete. Now reboot the PC, and then run the Fo3edit, it should auto locate your binary. Let me put this another way, My game is installed any where I choose ,and I can move my files to external drives, I can have as many games in this manner as I wish.At the same token, i can have as many Copies of these tools in each location. Many copies of many things and these things Obey Root commands as a standard. there is no Mystical magic about what goes where. every file runs and finds it's own folder, But every file uses only one spot on the system, that spot is the Apps temp location, Unlike a master file required by an esp...it too follows this premise. Understand? If the xedit program can not even see an executable right next to it in the same folder ? then that program is blocked by some other thing on the system locking YOU Off or from using it.Things stuck in the registry, or a temp file holding it hostage. it can be even a script sitting quietly some where...but most of the time is is the system that locks it off. Strict path sequencing is done only once..once it's done and registered on windows, those programs will run from any location regardless of the location with the exception of the system control folders. C:\windows; C:\windows system32 ; etc...C:\program Files and Folders or (x86) Bla bla bla.permissions assigned are not seen unless you look, inspect and undue assignments, replace access rights to it.back a few post ,it shows you My system temp game testing location....that's a Toshiba flash drive, a usb. that's where My game is installed at.I can log off and log back on another profile that has zero programing or any information pertain to the game and Fo3edit will run and ask me where My game is, I point it to it just once on that profile and it's a done deal. Now say I have two flash drives ? Guess what, the second one will also work correctly Even though the path is different, xedit will still see the files. where these bugs come from is the fat information provided by the system 64bit systems are Bugged. they are not 32bit, the programs are, were designed to run on 32bit.64bit systems "Emulate 32bit Environments."there are literally Two Operating systems installed with windows 64 bit. that's why there are two program file folders, one is marked (x86) the other one is 64bit.Currently runnig here a windows 7 Multi drive ,a tiny small western digital Pass book converted to sata, it once was a USB drive, but now is a main drive. It has a few Hundred profiles on it and only two OS platforms. It is the size of a pack of playing cards only a lot thinner. I have a cigar box full of Toshiba flash drives, Hundreds of them. No drive less that 16 gigs, the largest one I have is 1 tera byte. That's for work and NOT for games. It's linux... If there is some problem ..xedit is not able to see that executable right there, then the bug is in the programs installed on the system..which? I have no idea, not mine.the complain of it not finding the games directory is infamous.
Purr4me
watch this: download the first one from Fo3edit nexus version n 3.0.15, intall that one and see it find your files. tell me what happens.show me the directory screen shot the desk top with it running. your uploads to external sites need to be in a jpg format so save your screen shots with paintbrush as a *.jpg file, it';s instant.Imagine, I do all of this on my cell phone as a connection VPN I have no need for high speed networking any more, there is plenty of time to do things.I do large downloads from work. Never from home. so BMP files are too big and choke the networks. For the best quality conversion a jpeg file is the best. paintbrush is builtin file compressor. panzersharkcat
Made a new folder inside C: Whales for Wally named FO3Edit. Put that in there. Deleted the plug in thing from local apps. Rebooted. It found it and then pull off the same error again.

panzersharkcat
Same bug as before. I clicked FO3MasterRestore instead of FO3MasterUpdate when reporting success. Tried this again with yet another folder. Got the same bug. Maybe do a system restore from before this started happening?
Purr4me
No wait. I am trying to understand what is going on and with what, I want you to move out the edit folder and leave in place the existing fo3edits but rename them slightly, then download 3.0.15 and go back through your personal preference process and see if this thing occurs again.the games folder should resemble this:http://s26.postimg.org/empw9fpqh/should_look_like_this.jpg
