Well I tried it and it said that everything is fine except for the game card but surely that can't stop me from playing.

If by 'Game card' you mean video card, then Yes, that will definitely keep it from working. You need a compatible video card to display the graphics. Unfortunately, even some new laptops cannot run games such as Oblivion because they used an inexpensive (cheap) video card to keep the price down. Oblivion is a very graphics intensive game and requires a good video card to work at all.
