Rhydderch Hael
There I was, one night in Olav's Tap and Tack, watching Grom the Crying Bodyguard salting his ale with his tears. Suddenly, Surootan of Novaroma barges in, punches Grom once in the back of the head, then turns around and flees with Grom the Pissed-Off Bodyguard in full pursuit, warhammer at the ready. What's the point of this? Let's just say, in the aftermath of that little altercation, I soon discovered that Novaroma is closed for business— permanently. Vagrant0
Yep, if you accidentally kill anyone in or around towns, you might want to reload and try not to. This isn't morrowind were you can just randomly atttack people for fun. In Oblivion, there are only a few people that aren't related to a shop or quest, and most of them aren't even worth killing. Just go find some bandits or something, they're more fun to kill anyway. This isn't GTA Tamriel. Killing people usually means having to live with the results. Malchik
If you are playing on PC you can resurrect him via the console. Shops never restock but his inventory probably will (I haven't checked it but I think it must happen like that). From the game's point of view he is dead but he will still interact with you as if he were alive and as he is not needed in a quest you are probably safe. But be warned, several shopkeepers are trainers, including one master trainer. Care should be taken against unnecessary killing, as others have pointed out. Except for in the Imperial City, there are very fell 'wallpaper' NPCs and in the IC you don't find many in the Market District.
m3lisk
Or if you can use the CS, simply make him respawn, there is a little "respawn" box. If you feel bad, just think that a new owner would move in, and take over business, exept the name wouldn't change, unless you scripted it to, but it would take a little longer. thursti
I have a story similar to that, I was looking at Grom (sitting across from him) When all of a sudden he stands up and grabs his warhammer. Then he runs after me smashing the air, I was like holy crap run to the guards!
