Help needed with modeling

Hypercube

Recommended Posts

I recently started to work with Blender. Since i learn easier on my own, i didnt read any tutorialls. I learned how to model and all that. Once i finish making a sword , i have a problem...i dont know how to add texture. Is there a short tutorial that only concerns textures and their importing (i would like to paint them myself), and why do i allways get UV textures errors while exporting file as .nif ?

www.google.com

It's your friend, use it and love it. Like most things in 3d modeling, UVW mapping requires lots of pictures to demonstrate. And really, tutorials for something that incredibly basic are very easy to find. If you can't find one, you aren't trying.

Well, i found out the way to add texture without tutorialls, thanks for advice anyway. But there is a serious problem that i encountered...if i knew what it is, i would search for tutorialls...but i got no idea why this is hapening. Here it is :

I spent 4 hours on making this thing.

After i exported it as .nif format, i load it in nif scope, just to check it out. It was without texture !!! Then i tried to load it in TES 4 Editor, but i got message "invalid directiry". Why is this hapening ? Is it totaly ruined ? If there is a chance to fix it, please tell me, i have the blender file saved.

EDIT : Will someone help me ?

Well, before you spend any more time on import/export issues, I'd go find those texturing tutorials. You aren't even close to mastering it. Right now, your texture looks really badly distorted. It looks like you've just found the "assign to object" button, but not all the adjustments you have to make to get it to look right. There's a lot more to texturing than just picking a .jpg for each object.

I haven't tried model export for Oblivion yet (the game is not worth my time), but if it's anything like Morrowind was, I suspect that it's just picky about where you put the map files. Check to make sure they're in the appropriate folder.

Well, the problem is, when i export the model, i export it wihtout textures. Also, when i render, i render it without textures. I just read an texturing tutorial and made a texture for unwraped model, which is much easier. I want that texture to stay when i export the model, but i dont know how to do it.

just picking a .jpg for each object

i painted those with programs UV painter...multi layer airbrushing.

EDIT : I think that i somehow need to remove "shading", because the model takes its colour after i render it. But even if i remove shading, the model is grey after rendering or exporting...what the hell is going on ? When viewing it in program, i see the texture i painted, but when i render/export it , its gone !

I just want u to know that i fixed the problem. I was only making UV images that cover object...but no textures, which i got by loading the same image. Now i can export nifs with texture...but more problems to come XD check my other topic "old nif version"...
