Puruco
HI everyone: What is the best combination for a Battlemage in: Race, skils and birthsigth? Thanks...
Rhydderch Hael
Looking over the stats for the Battlemage class, the one non-Magic attribute you'll need is Strength. Everything else depends on magic (Intelligence and Willpower). There are no Armor skills in the class, but there is Conjuration and Alteration— two magic skills that can provide you with armor protection. So, the going idea is that you'll be using cast spells to provide defense in the form of magic shields and bouind armor. This means you may need a magic-strong race that will nonetheless give you room to focus on Strength for weapons. A middle-of-the-road race such as the Imperial or Dunmer easily comes to mind here. m3lisk
Ah, I say open up the CS, and mess with the Breton, they look like battlemages anyways.... Scratch that, use a Nord. They have magic, plus are very strong. Nord would be best bet.
Puruco
Thanks both, but if I use a combat race that use heavy armor skill, that skill is suppose to interfire with magic?
m3lisk
Yeah, I think you do get a penalty, until you are a Journeyman, or something. You'll get a message that says "Your armor no longer affects your magic efficiency", or something to that effect. I haven't played a mage type in a while, so I could be wrong. But I'm 60% sure... Rhydderch Hael
By Crimineny— the higher you are skilled with a particular armor, the less it hinders upon your spellcasting. Doesn't matter if its Heavy or Light Armor— as long as you keep up with it, you'll have nothing less than 95% spell effectiveness.
