Character tips?

Hello there! I'm quite new to Fallout 3 and I'm still trying to re-adjust from Oblivion.

I've yet to make a character that fits my personal taste and I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips?

Good beautifying mods that'll make this process easier, savegames to use as templates and general hints about the best ways to make a pretty character?

I've checked out a number of mods already but I'm not sure which one that'll work the best and look the best in game.

So in short I'm asking for your personal opinions on good mods to use!

When its your first time setting up FO3 its best to stick with the basics and those generally can be found on the first two pages of each category at Tes Nexus ,you just have to match up what it is you want .Body types with clothing and armor that matches.If you choose one of the lesser used types then you will have to look further in each category.

 

I generally pick what it is I want then look further in ,cause you never know what you will find and I always look for new and interesting things to go with my choices

There are a few programs you're going to need in order to use mods with Fallout 3.

 

The first is the Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM). This program will handle every aspect of loading/unloading your mods and helps keep things from breaking, becoming cluttered, or straight-up not working. This is the first mod-related thing you should download.

The next is a script extender called the Fallout Interoperability Program (FOIP) which you will need in order for some mods that make heavy use of scripts to work.

Finally, I'd get Cipscis' Automatic Save Manager (CASM). Fallout 3's save system sucks and save files easily become corrupted causing you to have to start a new game. With this mod you automatically create backups or multiple versions so, worst case, you'll only lose a few minutes to maybe an hour of game play. Very useful.

Instead, I've focused on mods that improve the experience through minor tweaks, add-ons that feel at home in the vanilla version, and mods that make Fallout 3 better looking.
