Cake, Flan, or Pie?

Let the debate begin! -bring his hands down on a random platform in a chopping motion-

I'd go for Flan because it is sweet, and its custard... Yay for custard! It also has a delightful flavor in puffiness and pleasant sweetness.

If you have never tasted Flan, do not worry, as for I have added a pie option!

I voted for cake, simply because I can bake a mean cake from scratch. I never could make a good pie crust, although my mom could. I will settle for the frozen ones you can buy from the store. I know you real crust connoisseurs out there are cringing now. I'm sorry, I just cannot do it. And you flan people will also cringe when I say that I have never really cared for custard all that much. So, it is cake for me!

 

I will add that I have had good flan and excellent pie, but still prefer cake overall.

I will start working on it now! The storm, I mean. The cake might get a bit stale. Gary loves chocolate with almonds too. One of his favorite candy bars is Hershey's with almonds.:tongue:

I voted pie. I don't like cake. Flans are nice, but upsets my stomach when it is too rich.

 

I'm a fan of lemon meringue pie, by the way. I like tart things.

We're discussing food,again? guess I'll have to start visiting the debates forum more often :laugh:

Anyway, I voted for flan, though it was a tough choice to make, since I like all three :blush: but somehow flan gets an edge over the other two .I just love flan especially if it is a cream cheese variant with a silky texture and a smooth caramel sauce. :thumbsup: I like cakes with rich over the top icings, also Banana-cheese and Butterscotch cakes, Plum cakes,Chocolate and walnut brownies, peanut-butter and white chocolate Blondies are my favorite. :happy:

Regarding Pies,well I really miss the meat-mushroom-jalapeno pies that my dad used to make :sad: Those were my favorites. Since he's gone, I've come up with my own version of turkey-cheese-Jalapeno pie ,my current favorite..Spicy!.......Gonna dart off to the refrigerator.... :biggrin:

Btw a (dress) size 34 (my eternal wish) is the UK equivalent of a size 8 and the US size 6 ... just thought that maybe you'd also like to know such useless information.

I can do pie, and I can do crust, but my specialty is cheesecake, with pumpkin pie and apple cake close runners up. Two of these are more custard than cake or pie, and apple cake is more like a bread, a la banana bread. If I had my choice, I think I'd go with ice cream.
