Making of a mod. Where should i save the file?

Everytime i save over a file after i have changed it, edited it in the Geck, its removed from the Data folder. What do i do? Im sick of having to search my freaking computer everytime i want to glitch check my mods.. Help would be appriciated :)

Your plugins always save to fallout 3/data folder. If you're not seeing them there, you need to install the game outside of c:\program files/ run geck as admin/ turn off UAC or some other method of allowing your vista/win7 system to modify files in that directory.

I recommend the method of turning off UAC. That is, if you know how to handle a computer (i.e, you know how to turn it on/off - yeah, some people don't)

 

How To:

Go to: Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts

Click "Change User Account Control Settings".

Pull the Slider all the way to the bottom.
