Trying to add a few mods and I keep crashing

Hi all!

Not entirely sure which forum to put this in; the fallout mod troubleshooting one seemed to be more on the subject of troubleshooting why the mod I/You are creating aren't working, rather than allready-existing ones.

At any rate:

I have Fallout 3. I've had it for a while, I used to play it a lot, uninstalled it. Now I reinstalled it, and things are not working as they used to.

1: I installed Fallout 3 as well as Point Lookout, Anchorage, The Pitt, and Broken Steel. (No mothership, I like the wasteland, not hi-tech alien ships.).

2: Then patched it to 1.7.

3: I played it a little bit, just to make sure it worked. (Didn't leave the vault.).

4: Then I added Brurpo's excellent body replacer.

5: I followed the instructions in 5 - setting the old files thingy to 1 and created ArchiveInvalidation.txt with the (cut and paste) text bits in it.

6: Added BR_Repair.

7: Added fomm, just to be thorough, and because it didn't run after 6.

8: It still didn't run at all. Uninstalled everything, repeating steps 1-8 with varying degrees of accuracy, uninstalled then reinstalled everything .net related as well as all codecs.

9: Repeated steps 1-3.

However, anything at steps 5+ results in crashes. As does adding BR_repair. When I say crashes, I mean it halts immediately - at start of loading - with a report to MS.

Now, I'm not that used to mods. What am I doing wrong?

I am not immune to the suggestion that it may have to do something with step X: Drinking a bottle of Petit Chablais, but since I can still type straight, I don't think so. (I've been struggling with this for a few days, as well.).

Thing is... the patch for brurpo's body replacer... I've had trouble finding out what that is for. Is it still needed or is that an outdated part of that mod? What is causing problems? BA_Repair, while it seems to be the most reasonable, least cheaty repair mod, it seems like it really doesn't want to run - what would a working load order be for it? It would be easier to get the GOTY edition and have everything in one mod, but if that's the only way to get it to work, something's wrong.

If you need Dxdiag or similar to help, please let me know, but this damnthing self-imploding game did run fine without any meddling; I figure HOW I meddle is the problem here, so what would be the correct way to install the two mods in question?

Is fallout mod manager a help, in this case, or part of the problem?

Seriously, guys, I'm in deep water here. HELP!

Do you mean this mod?

If you haven't all of the dlcs, you only need the repective esps, like this:

BA_RepairVanilla.esp

BA_RepairAnchorage.esp

BA_RepairBrokenSteel.esp

BA_RepairPointLookout.esp

BA_RepairThePitt.esp

---

If you are not shure, post your load order
