ChunksAhoy
After about 20-30 minutes of play time, the music stops altogether until i exit and relaunch oblivion (even in the game menu); henceforth the cycle continues. Was hoping someone had a remote idea of a solution or at least the source of the problem because i'm pooped. Striker879
What sound card are you running? Info on your operating system, installed RAM and whether or not you are using any music replacers/additions (they won't show on a load list) would help as well. ChunksAhoy
System specs are on my profile page, so that's 8gb ram, and I'm using onboard audio off my motherboard (no additional sound card) which is the asus p67; my drivers are up to date. I don't think it's a hardware problem as I'm not getting sound issues in any other game or in general. I noticed the problem soon after I overdosed oblivion with my list of mods. Might be wrong, but I suspect it might revolve around obse, obge, perhaps something awry in wrye bash (even though everything looks in check). I've disabled a few mods, but again the music stops around 25 minutes, so it would take me a while if I'm to cross mods out 1 by 1.
Striker879
Unless you can recall a mod or list of mods you've added just before you noticed the problem there's not much other way. You could use the old "disable half" method to whittle the list down quicker. I agree that with 8GB RAM I doubt you're hitting a running out of memory problem. There hasn't been anything like driver updates has there (often done automatically, which makes it hard to know what is causing problems when they arise)? If you installed a big whack of mods all at once and didn't test thoroughly in between mods you're getting a good lesson on what is quicker, the tortoise or the hare. ChunksAhoy
Thought I should update this topic in case anyone runs into a similar problem in the future. Turns out it was an audio codec problem. I uninstalled vlc and cccp ( combined community codec pack), which solved my problem entirely.
