OtakuHanzo
I'm going mad, quite simply put. Here's my situation: Been playing FO3 for about two weeks without a problem. Then yesterday I was having problems with radio sounds stuttering if I played it through my Pipboy (something I really hadn't tried until then), so looked up online and found where someone said to make sure your AC3 filter was clicked to Direct Sound. Mine was. Well, I decided to test something and clicked the Wav option instead. Voila! No stutter. But then ambient radios were messed up. They sounded super muffled like listening to them through a few walls. All other sounds were fine though. But I went and switched back to Direct Sound and BAM! All of a sudden ALL sound in my game was muffled. Voices weren't even audible unless you strained to hear them. I tried switching back. Nada. I've uninstalled/reinstalled AC3, Fallout 3, messed with my sound setup, everything I could think of to no avail. Sound is still fudged. All other things on my system sound great. Games, apps, whatnot. But FO3 is still messed up. What happened? I am going mad trying to figure this out. Please.. Anyone... Help.
delta401
I don't know...maybe is a bug of the game, because this problem I had many time ago...try to patch the game at version 1.7 or better...
OtakuHanzo
That's the problem though. It is patched. BTW, I am using Win 7 just so everyone knows. Thanks for your reply. I hope I can get this fixed. I can still play, but it's not the same without full sound. :/
OtakuHanzo
Isn't there anyone who can help? I'm getting rather desperate here. I found a temp solution by cranking the master volume on my pc and using headphones. But I would like a permanent fix. I've never in all my years of gaming encountered a problem like this and it has me stumped.

OtakuHanzo
Well, that's a big thanks and kudos from me. Can't understand why this happened, but won't argue with the results of the fix. The first one fixed the problem, but I had to use the second one to figure out how to install it properly. Got it fixed though. Thanks again!
