LazyGamer95
Hello all! I am Lazy Gamer. I am current just now starting on an idea of a home in space, now alot of you might think "Ehhh.. A home in space doesn't really fit fallout, etc." I know, sounds silly... BUT!! I had an idea and been dreaming about it non stop. I am in the progress of making a player home in space, Now, I'm not much for 3D modeling since I am pretty much just started learning... But I think I might make it like a miniaturize version of the USG Ishimura from Dead Space, but making it look.. Fallout Vault Tec themed...(The exterior and interior), I'm not sure on alot of details, but I am open to any suggestions... (The Ship: Hmmm.. Not sure what to make the model-EXTERIOR, look like. It's got to be.. I don't know.. Look.. like the Ishimura? Or I could make it look like the SSV Normandy from Mass Effect? Or Should I make it look like the Alien ships crashed on the planet? It's a matter of debate and what feels and looks right.) (Npc's?: I am not quite sure of this.. Should I add NPC's? Like staff or something? Let me guys know what could work in that category.) Like I said, If you guys have any ideas, pitch them at me! I'm open to any suggestions.
JoKelly
you can also use some of the alien interiors from Mothership zeta, some of those are pretty cool looking, maybe replace a few textures here and there but not alot of work over all. The coolest part would be the view of the earth from the Stations windows. okay so I am odd that way. Me personally I prefer to keep my courier in the Mojave, but you do have a cool idea. Chad95
When I think Vault Tec what comes to mind is 1950's retro tech. In the 1950's when they were first designing space stations they had come up with a really weird design and were stuck on it for awhile. The designs varied, but usually consisted of a large ring filled with various living modules. The center of the station there was a large command and control tower. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xNMLEvaoJYo/UmP0vojcNFI/AAAAAAAABYw/fvdaYvm128w/s1600/walt-disney-treasures-tomorrowland-disney-in-space-and-beyond--20040524043358986.jpg The design is know as the Von Braun space station, it was developed in 1955 by ex nazi rocket scientist wernher von braun. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/station/images/interiorview.jpghttp://www.fabiofeminofantascience.org/COLLIERS/FREEMANSTATION2.jpghttp://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/station/images/cuastros.jpgVon Braun also had plans for a rocket ship to transport people and equipment to his station it was know as the RM-1http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vi4CghhzolM/U46cV_JvIjI/AAAAAAAAROc/3vm2KIsuy5Y/s1600/tomorrowland4.jpg Edited January 1, 2015 by Chad95
LazyGamer95
Hmmm... I like the idea of that, thanks for these inputs, I could possibly make it look like that and maybe give it a alien isolation vibe mixed with fallout vault tec perhaps? Chad95
It does indeed storm, it's likely this design was considered by many people including the Black Isle developers in their cancelled Van Buren project. http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100119001601/fallout/images/thumb/e/e3/VB_DD16_loc_B.O.M.B.-001.jpg/240px-VB_DD16_loc_B.O.M.B.-001.jpg For instance this is a picture of the Ballistic Orbital Missile Base 001 or B.O.M.B-001 http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ballistic_Orbital_Missile_Base_001 In the cancelled van buren game this station was to carry 24 nuclear tipped independent warheads and serve as a launching station. The player would have to travel here and stop some sort of launch or other. It's not a stretch to assume vault tec would have some sort of cooperation in building such a station. They were known to work with the military on occasions and had the technological capabilities to keep a facility like that going for long periods of time. The station in the Van Buren game was capable of holding a crew of 8 "brainbots" or the fallout equivalent robobrains. These bots were meant to keep the station operational over the years and launch the missiles if the war had come. It's likely the person developing that mod is trying to add the BOMB-001 station into the game. (A great idea I must say) although the station hes adding seems a little more degraded. http://static-2.nexusmods.com/15/images/130/1275312-1419926856.jpg Not sure what he's doing with it, but doesn't seem like hes considered an interior since he has no pictures of anything like that.Maybe ask him what he thinks about your station idea? maybe he'll help you out. JoKelly
I wonder how long it takes to change that torus if it goes flat? :ninja:
