MURDERMASS
Hi all, I've been registered on this forums since Oblivion was first released for PC. Back then I had troubles getting it to run properly on my rig, it ultimately led me to purchase a PS3 and enjoy Oblivion that way instead. However I've just bought a new PC and I'm now longing for some of the great mods that I know have been produced by the community. Since there's a LOT of mods out there I had a hard time deciding which ones to use. Eventually I came upon this recent article from PC Gamer: Article So, first things first I began downloading all these recommended mods, which took me about 3 hours, no problems this far. I just can't grasp how to install them, even after trying to understand the Readme's, and I ended up with having to uninstall and install Oblivion numerous times because I got it all wrong. I then got OBMM which I remember from my time playing Morrowind (it probably wasn't called Oblivion Modmanager then though...) and tried to install everything all over again. I'm kind of confused with in what order to install the mods and their load order, I've been searching around for this all over the internet but I still haven't come upon any real answers. This is how I've done it: 1. Install Vanilla Oblivion (don't have any official add-ons)2. Install Official Oblivion Patch for UK-versions: v1.2.04163. Install The Unofficial Oblivion Patch v3.20 OMOD install4. Install Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (first 1.3.exe install, then 1.32 Final Upgrade OMOD ready 7zip and at last 1.33 OMOD ready install)5. Install Midas Magic Spells of Aurum 0955 and Patch A6. Install Unique Landscapes Complete OMOD v1-5-77. Install Deadly Reflex Combat Moves v5.0 and Hotfix for v5.08. Install Qarl's Texture Pack III (zip) and Patch 1.3 (exe)9. Install Darnified UI 132 OMOD10. Install Natural Environments Okay, now when this is done the game froze already at character creation. I'm pretty sure I've done something wrong with OOO, QTPIII and/or load order. I don't really get how to use the OMOD installer through OBMM but I think I'm on the right track, first I click "Create" --> "Add archive" --> select the OMOD --> "Create OM" --> Follow the onscreen instructions. Any advice on installations, mod load order and/or recommended mods would be great. Also I'm not sure if my PC can handle QTPIII in combination with i.e. Unique Landscapes and Natural Environments, it can run Vanilla Oblivion on maxed settings (except Anti-aliasing) without noticeable lag though, will that be enough? I'm aware that this is a wall of text but I really want this to work. :) My rig (not exactly a gaming rig because of weak graphic card): AMD Phenom II X6 1035T Processor 2.6GHz6GB DDR3 RAMATI Radeon HD5570 1GB DDR3 Windows 7 Premium EditionRuns on a Sony 40''HDTV through HDMI-cable

MURDERMASS
did you remember to test the game between every step? Thanks for your answer. Frankly, I didn't :P I've done it now however and it seems to work at least somewhat better. I still get random crashes while starting a new game though. I used BOSS to help get the correct load order. It seems like Unique Landscapes won't work for me, I've installed it using OBMM and "activated" it, but it won't show up in the load order. I can't find any related .esp files either, all I have is a "Unique Landscapes Compilation 1.5.7" Oblivion mod file of 216Mb in the Oblivion Data folder. MURDERMASS
I've spent the whole evening with this and I think that I've figured out how to get this to work. Apparently I hadn't used the correct button in some cases (like Unique Landscapes and DarnifyUI), having clicked "Create" instead of "Load" in OBMM... I'm installing Better Cities now and will probably have some time to play the game too :)
