MikeFL25
I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to install Ren's mod. I understand the meshes and textures need to be put in specific places, but how can I tell which files are which? Also, I have been seeing screen shots for really good looking character faces. I am looking into Natural Faces, but are there any other mods that can allow me to make a really good looking character?
MikeFL25
Sorry for double post, but I have tried installing the mod following the readme instructions and I can't make it work...any advice is appreciated!
SavageArtistry
Generally you just unzip the archive (.7z, .rar, .zip or whatever) and put the resulting folders (Meshes and Textures) and any file with the .esp extension into your Oblivion\Data directory, open the launcher, select "Data Files," put a check mark next to it, and start your game. In the case of Beautiful People, there may be more than one .esp file, so if that's the case, check the readme to make sure you're using the right one. Generally you won't be using two .esp files from the same mod. If it's an .omod, you need to install it using Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM). You install OBMM first, then double-click your .omod and hit the activate button. As for nice looking characters, it ends up being a combination of factors such as possible custom races (possibly with modified heads) as well as various textures, and just the individual's skill with the character creation sliders. If you want all your vanilla npc's to look better, I recommend installing IFT Facial Textures first, then overwriting with Natural Faces or Enayla's Facial Textures. MikeFL25
So I should install IFT first, then overwrite with NF or Enyala's? If so, which one of the last two would you recommend? (I appreciate the help by the way).

(I appreciate the help by the way). Yes, IFT first. It has some age maps that helps reduce blotchiness in the skin. IFT comes with good face textures all on its own, so you can try your game and see if you like it. If you want to use one of the others then you overwrite IFT. This will leave the age maps intact. I like Enayla's myself.
MikeFL25
I'm running into a little problem...I'm really not having any luck with these face/body mods...I installed IFT and Enyala's exactly as the instructions/readme's described, and when I go into the character creation screen I dont see any differences. I also installed Ren's mod and the OBMM says it is installed, and I did the OBMM ArchiveInvalidation thing, and I don't see any extra textures/hair/custom race. Every other mod I have added has worked fine, but these three mods (IFT, Enyala and Rens) I just cant figure out how to make them work. :/
SavageArtistry
Well, I've told you what I know. I'm not sure what's so different about Beautiful People, but the last time I used it was numerous versions ago and now there's several varieties so maybe I'm just missing something. You could try a different cosmetic pack. There's several to choose from if you search for something like "hair." alhazred
You should have folders named "Ren" in Data\Meshes\characters and Data\Textures\characters. If they're not there, OBMM has been lying and they might be in a data folder inside the data folder... As for IFT and Enayla's, the difference might not be that obvious on the character creation screen. Wait until you see a few npc's maybe.
