gethyyy
It's just I've seen a lot of mods that require FOSE to function and I was just wondering if it was safe to download.
Gishank
Of course, FoSE is legit. It's a nifty little piece of equipment which allows people to do far more modding wise than the restrictions of the GECK.
tegthelord
not only safe, but essential. You won't get very far outside Vanilla without it.

ICERAY2000
I bought the GOTY edition and it absolutely would not run thanks to the @#$#$%$%^$ stupid "protection" scheme - I wrote the company that does the "protection" and they were, well, idiots.FOSE was my salvation! Installed and ran perfectly. IF you aren't using FOSE AND FOMM, then you are doomed to unsolved issues and problems. With them, you are off into a world of wonder and endless MODS."YOU MUST INSTALL THIS PROGRAM," says the confident voice inside your head. I also just installed FOOK2, and if not for FOSE and FOMM, it never would have been arranged correctly. FOSE enables the great ideas of the modders to work in FO3.FOMM enables you to arrange and control the load order, which is critical to running. It will even suggest a preferred order, and reports files that are out of order, need other filesto work properly, or other issues. Bottom line, please do install it! and FOMM too!
Nimboss
It's just I've seen a lot of mods that require FOSE to function and I was just wondering if it was safe to download.Yes, actually FOSE extends and make impossible things in vanilla game doable. It's the same guys that made OBSE for Oblivion and these are a must have for any modder that make advanced things in both games. If "security" is an issue and you are paranoid about it know that the main source to get FOSE is on this link http://fose.silverlock.org because that is the site the developers release the script extender on. I'm not aware they put this up anywhere else officially (correct me if anyone know better!) so if you get it from some other obscure web site you might get "gifts" along with it. That's the only keep "safe" thing I can come up with, FOSE works like a charm like OBSE in OB, the only issue or CTD cause is if the modder that use FOSE or OBSE don't yet fully grasped how to use it properly, at least that is my experience. Jeoshua
If something states confidently that it does not require FOSE, it is actually a good sign that the mod is done in the simplest way possible, therefore won't hurt your FPS. If a mod states that it deffinitely requires FOSE to run correctly, it is a sign that the modder knows his stuff and is most likely a good mod, but it might have an FPS hit. If it doesn't say whether or not the mod needs FOSE, it's a mixed signal.
