Trouble with Anvil Bay Expansion

Earlier this morning I downloaded Anvil Bay Expansion, which looks fantastic. But I cannot play it, as it is not showing up in data files. I've extracted and re-extracted to the right folders, but Its still not appearing, I've checked the file location and everything. So I searched the file location in 7zip, and AnvilBayExpansion appears, but when I click properties, the file logo appears with a small gold padlock next to it. Whatever changes I make that may help are not allowed, and don't work.

SO how do I get this file to work? Help would be much appreciated, as this mod looks awesome.

I'm using Windows 7 if thats any help

It sounds as though you have Oblivion installed in the default directory (i.e., c:\Program Files\Bethesda\Oblivion). Windows 7 does not allow changes to files in the Program Files directory, which makes it virtually impossible to use mods with Oblivion installed there. Install Oblivion to another directory outside of Program Files (like c:\Games) and you will be able to use mods. For more details, read this article. It applies to Windows 7 as well as Vista.

Sorry for the double post.

I'm trying to move it but it isn't working, coming up with an error that it is 'open in another folder', when it is not. Do I have to un-instally and re-install Oblivion or is there a way around this?

Oblivion has issues when installed to the default protected 'Program Files' folder structure in Win 7 and Vista. Your best bet is to completely uninstall Oblivion (I suggest following Bben's uninstall procedure), and then reinstall Oblivion to somewhere like C:\Games\Oblivion\ .
