phreatophile
I loved this game while it worked. Eventually I had every problem I read about here or on Bioware's site. Lag. CTD, slideshow frame rate, black screen of death followed by hard reboot. I didn't want to underclock anything, or any of the other fixes I read about, so I gave up and bought Fallout 3, Played The Witcher through again, and Oblivion too. (All on their respective highest settings except for AA wich was off) I recently upgraded the Graphics card (GeForce 9800GT) Does anyone know if any of these issues have been fixed with the patches of if they will be fixed in the "Ultimate Edition"?I see that it includes all of the DLC. I'm just wondering if it's worth the money.

All the rest of the content (except for a "Bonus" item or two) is available to you individually, and any and all "patches" and "fixes" are available free. There is no new patch with the "UE". The v1.04 patch might fix the issues you experienced with CtDs. (Personally, I found a fix by using the "Large Memory Area Flag" approach from FO3.) And your rig's ability to handle The Witcher, Oblivion, or any others is irrelevant as far as DA compatibility is concerned. Completely different game engines. (DA uses the "Infinity Engine", which is unique to it.)
DarkeWolf
there was a lot of people that still had the same issues even after patch 1.04.AFAIK no, there are no actual game improvements in the ultimate edition. :(Besides, any updates they did there, they'd release in patch. phreatophile
Thanks, I've paid little attention to DA:O after a single playthrough with a lots of hard starts, since I had so much trouble with it.But I found the story compelling and was considering another go before I bought, FO:NewVegas, The Witcher2.Thanks for the advice. DarkeWolf
Not a problem. But yeah, UE is pretty much an idea to try to draw in new customers that dont already have the game. Since most of us that already have it, have already invested in at least a few DLC's, its really not worth our coin
killzone12
not worth it if you have the game and the dlcs already but if you dont have the game already then the dao ue would be good maybe that added some nifty things in ue

I don't play FO3 so I don't know what that is.
