What does the OBSE save file do?

Basically, I'm wondering what information is stored in the .obse file that saves along with your standard .ess save file. If I delete it, what happens? My game seemed to load fine after I tried it, but will I run into problems down the road if I continue with that save file?

I'm having problems with long save times, that don't have to do with save bloat. See this thread for details:

OBSE injects it's own code (for extra script functions etc.) into the game via the OBSE loader. Oblivion does not save OBSE information, so OBSE has to supplement the save with it's own save information or it will be lost when you reload.

Thanks Hickory. I was wondering what the exact data that is stored is though. What happens if I delete it?

I contacted one of the authors of OBSE and he said to view the contents of my .obse save file with Wrye Bash, but I don't know how. All I see is the .ess files. How do I view .obse files in Wrye Bash?

EDIT: Nevermind, I needed to upgrade Wrye Bash. :teehee:

For anybody else who may be curious: to view OBSE data, right click on a save file and select '.obse statistics'.
