Dura
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with the CS in XP compatability mode and running as administrator. Everything works fine until I try to save an esp, then the CS crashes and the esp is corrupted. Any ideas?
Dura
So I found that I can save by trying to close the CS and hitting yes when it asks me if I want to save the current project or whatever, but after I do that I can't place items anymore. This is starting to piss me off
David Brasher
The CS is designed for Windows XP. If you want to use Windows 7, the best approach is to reinstall Oblivion in a directory outside of "Program Files" where the misguided security system stops you from doing anything you want to do. For example, on my Windows 7 machine, Oblivion is located at: C:\Games\Oblivion So I can use the CS and save mods just fine.
Dura
If you mean the little window that pops up every time you try to move something and asks you if you want to allow it, I have that completely disabled. Instead the CS just plain crashes when I click save.
buddah
The problem is the default location is in program files, all the security measures of windows 7 come into play. It also has a habit of storing some of your files in virtual storage and this is problematic in and of itself. All of my games are installed outside the program files for that reason. No problem that way and I mod daily and never have a problem. My directory path is : C:\Buddah Games\Oblivion http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad68/buddah701/new%20rig/Installationlocation.jpg
Razakel
The problem is that Oblivion and the CS are tempremental bitches that will use any excuse they possibly can to crash. I've had the same problem running it on a pure XP system while doing everything right. So trust me it's not a windows issue, it's a Bethesda issue. Try reinstalling the CS and if that doesn't work try reinstalling Oblivion and the CS. If that doesn't work try swearing incoherently at an inanimate object.
