Fallout crashes upon startup.

Hello everyone. Did some modding and now fallout crashes on startup.

At first it loaded but then I wasn't able to use any keys and my mouse never showed up. I suspected DarNified UI so I reinstalled it. Now it crashes upon startup.

I tested updating my merged patch, repatching for 1.7. I used the loadorder demonstrated on Foips description page. Running windows 7 ultimate and fallout 3 goty.

Em. The game worked before I modded. I have successfully modded both Oblivion and Fallout 3 before, just some bad luck/files/something else this time.

What else is there to say...? Got the latest Fose, Fomm, ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated.

Any ideas?

 

Just reinstalled the game. Again. 5th time in a week. Couldn't go a day without playing. Fail. Gonna try again. Even more careful. Thanks anyway.

Disable MMM the whole thing. For some reason right now the MMM.esm is doing the same thing for meh.

 

 

When this happens you can as a way to narrow the field. Disable the mods working backwards until it stops doing it, then that points to the cause. On the larger load orders just disable half of the load order, whoops it's still happening, disable half the remaining mods, whoops not there either, do the rest single an bam find which one.

 

*Edit* Well I got past it from assembling the MMM into FOMOD, I noticed that both the loose version an FOMOD versions were the same download, an none were actually a FOMOD yet. So what I did was package manager in FOMM then add FOMOD and pick the MMM.rar or zip. Then let it do it's thing which took forever. Then activate that FOMOD pick the optionals, an install an hopefully launch the game without it crashing.

So many large mods and you wonder why you crash on startup?

But yeah. Marts Mutant Mod will be the cause.

RC6 seems to be very unstable with a lot of mods now.

So you're going to have to wait for some fixes =]

Toggle invalidation so it's applied (on) then go to your data folder an make sure the archive invalidation .bsa is above the other .bsa so it's first

 

You're also going to need either some FOIP (fallout interoperablity patches) or open the whole load order with FO3 edit an get to work fixing.

 

Patch to 1.7 again (GOTY thing), you can get it at the fallout 3 site or on Nexus.

 

Install DUI, an FWE DUI or try moving it down so it loads before or after MMM

 

FOMM package manager, add FOMOD, select the MMM .rar or .zip, when it starts go do something else because it takes forever

 

When it's done then activate the assembled FOMOD you just created, go do something else because that takes a while to install too (hit yes to all)

 

Come back move MMM around like it should be (which I think is just moving MMM.esm to the top with the other .esm

 

Merge patch if you don't have one, Always name yer merge patch merge patch, er

 

Master update, then launch an come back an tell us what happened.

Well as stated in the first post, I reinstalled the game because it didn't work. Today I tried MMM again (Made a backup data folder this time :D) I did everything you said, still crashes me. I'll just avoid MMM for the time being. As i said. Thanks for helping! Kudos to you guys!
