pleasenoname
I was wondering if it was possible to run Oblivion on a 1.6ghz Netbook?I can run it on my 1.8 ghz pentium 4 laptop(looks really simple texturally though) otherwise, please advise on what games I could download and try out, as a disc is impractical for the netbook.Direct to drive didn't have morrowind for sale, much to my dismay. bben46
I doubt that your netbook has the minimum requirements to play Oblivion. Not enough Ram, and video likely doesn't meet requirements. But you can check here to see what it can run. Go here to see if your computer can run the gamehttp://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ You will find Oblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, OblivionFallout3 as Fallout3 PC and Dragon Age listed as Dragon age
GiraffeMonster
Definitely not. Even though Oblivion was made in 2006, it's still a very resource intensive game. Maybe you could run it at lower settings/low frame rate, but I wouldn't want to. I wouldn't suggest running it on a laptop either, you'll get cooling issues. If it's below system requirements, then you're not going to get good results. It's usually best to have hardware ABOVE recommended specs. I'm not really into gaming on netbooks/laptops at all though, so perhaps my opinions are biased. Have you tried Civilization III? Great 2001 game that provides a lot of fun. And it can run on pretty much any modern system. You can install it by disc, however, you don't need the disc inside the drive in order to play it. I don't like the distribution method for 5, so I'm not getting that. I could load 3 on the net book, but I like 4 so much more that I think I would try to put that on here I have a desktop that I personally constructed, with a 9800GT in it also. I just wanted to see how it would look on the laptop. it played the same, just lost all the texture detail. I need something with a story though, thats why i was hoping for morrowind. I have the Dosbox Daggerfall on here, but I don't like it as much as the newer games, because the choppyness of the framerate gets annoying after a while.
