  1. Guess I should stop clicking the ads. Whoops, I wasn't aware of that, my bad. "I know that all this talk of incentivisation through bandwidth throttling has a few gaping holes in the plan. What if you’re on dial-up, or 1MB/sec download speeds are a dream to you? All this talk is pretty pointless huh? Yeah, it is. Sorry about that. What if you don’t care about download speeds? Well, yeah, pretty pointless too. But I wanted to look for ways that we could incentivise aspects of this site for you, and I’ll continue to look for ways to incentivise things in the future. This is the first step, I’m sure, of many." Heh, yeah. Bell throttling my bandwith to an obscenely low 300kbps kinda sucks. I do use Adblock, disabling it on sites that I visit enough, the nexus being one of them. Even though I do that, the header ad at the top of the page never displays, but the square-shaped one does. It's been like that for a while.
  2. I can hardly remember, but I think I went swimming the first time too! I mean, there's just so much water everywhere (which looked pretty beautiful, especially for a 2006 game), so I couldn't resist. And when I found the slaughterfish which is like, right in front of you when you escape the sewers, it reminded me of Morrowind. I also remember spending a ton of time in the market district.
  3. I just checked that out on the UESP, and it's true. I think that knowing that small detail makes the Inn of Ill Omen so much more amazing.
  4. Checked it out, and it looks very promising. I'm downloading that right now, thanks for the suggestion! And yeah, the signature's kind of like that really old meme of Spiderman going "How do I shot web?", I'd change if I were any more creative. ;)
  5. Currently, I'm using the Drow Race mod with Natural Faces and HGEC. It's for the most part, fine, but the faces still look a lot like the Vanilla version. Any help with this? Here's one result of the Drow mod, what would you suggest to get a character's face to look smoother and more consistent like that? http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/images/19753-1-1253137749.jpg I've barely used any beauty mods, so I'm really lost with this. Help and mod suggestions are appreciated.
  6. Awesome to see another brony here on this site.
  7. I think Sentenced has their fair share of good songs, and others that just come off as whiny, but this is definitely one of the good one's. Anyway, Machine Head - Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden Cover)
  8. Hello, can anyone find me a mod that makes faces blend in nicely with bodies? I'm not using any male body mods, however, there's a really ugly difference between face complexion and body complexion. I would be very grateful if someone could find me the appropriate mod, as I occasionally upload images to this site. I would prefer that the mod is compatible with Oblivion Mod Manager, as it really helps me install/uninstall, but it's not needed. Anyways, I took a screenshot of my character's face. In case some don't understand the problem, it's that the neck is really dark compared to the chest around it. I hope someone can find me a good one. Thank you.
  9. 1. More middle/lower class clothing. 2. Even more middle/lower class clothing. 3. More closed helmets. 4. Less pathetic light armor. To be honest, I think that they Bethesda put a good amount of effort into clothing for people who like to keep it simple. As for armor, light armor looks WAY too light. I'm fine with heavy armor though.
  10. It sounds like a great game, one of my friends has it. I myself have Civilization III, and I'm happy with it. If I wanted to get Civilization V though, first I'd have to buy a really fast computer. My hardware is below Civ V's minimum specs. Just how resource intensive can a game be? Other than that however, it looks like a well made game. It would be one of the first games I would buy if I had a really fast gaming PC. Also, what's so wrong with steam? I can sort of remember people complaining about Empire (or Napoleon): Total War requiring steam too. I'm asking this because I have not used steam as of yet.
  11. Definitely not. Even though Oblivion was made in 2006, it's still a very resource intensive game. Maybe you could run it at lower settings/low frame rate, but I wouldn't want to. I wouldn't suggest running it on a laptop either, you'll get cooling issues. If it's below system requirements, then you're not going to get good results. It's usually best to have hardware ABOVE recommended specs. I'm not really into gaming on netbooks/laptops at all though, so perhaps my opinions are biased. Have you tried Civilization III? Great 2001 game that provides a lot of fun. And it can run on pretty much any modern system. You can install it by disc, however, you don't need the disc inside the drive in order to play it.
  12. In most of my new games, I swim across the Lake to Vilverin. Then I kill the two bandits, take their loot, and fast travel to the market district. I Sell some stuff, and maybe raise my speechcraft skill over there. Then I go to Weynon priory to advance the MQ and get Prior Maborel's Paint Horse. After all of that is done, I just do some usually money-making activities. But I usually go to Odill Farm for ingredients, and Dzonot Cave for extra money. Money is important.
  13. Nice, I believe I added you as a friend. I can't really imagine that type of performance. Especially with a single core Intel Celeron.
  14. Hello Spysix. I believe that you should get both the official and unofficial Oblivion patches. If I recall, don't the unofficial patches require Oblivion to be patched to it's latest? EDIT: "This mod is a joint effort to fix the vast amount of bugs currently existing in Oblivion v1.2.0.416". That's the latest patch. You should officially patch from the official site. Then you can download the Unofficial patches. As for the user interface, try Darnified UI, I use it. There's also BTMod.
  15. Just wait for technology to advance. Hard disk drives are probably going to continue development so we can reach storage milestones (1 petabyte, anyone?). But other than that, SSD's are also going to get a ton cheaper, with larger capacities as well. Not only that, but people have been going insane over power conservation, so that's also a benefit. To me, storage space really doesn't matter. It's all about performance. I'm on a 40GB HDD and I still have room for another 2005-2006 game. So yeah, SSD's are where it's going to be at.
  16. I've got an Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT. 512MB of DDR Ram. While only being DDR makes it slow, my Intel Celeron 2.66Ghz Single Core bottlenecks the whole system before the graphics card makes a difference.
  17. Wow, more similarities. I've had this system I'm on right now since 2008 (when I got Oblivion). It can barely run it, I'm on performance mods as well as low settings. Not only that, but I also had a previous account, with a name I didn't prefer. I never posted with it though. Also I switched to a different system because my power supply burnt out through insufficient cooling. Replaced it with an ATX power supply and an ATX case to go along with it. I moved all the components, now there are no heat problems to go with it. And thanks Pushkatu.
  18. I don't have a high-end computer myself, so I might not be precise on my statements. However, I believe that two 9600 GT's are more than enough. If actors really slow you down, then I'm going to say to upgrade the CPU. As you said, you would probably upgrade your motherboard as well, making room for a dedicated sound card, which can further take load off the processor. ( Also, I could never run that Oblivion setup on my computer. Nevaar. )
  19. Hello. I've been browsing the Nexus sites for Oblivion mods for quite a while now. I've also had a glimpse of the other Nexus sites. This however, is my first time posting on the Nexus forums, and I'm happy to be doing it. I've had Oblivion since 2008, then quit and started up again several times. I got back into it again just a while ago. Throughout my time browsing different communities for resources that The Nexus offers, I believe that this place is the one that I enjoy being around the most. The people seem friendly, and the staff seem active and helpful. I hope to fit in with this community, as well as help other people along the way. Thanks.
