Make it go away!

Commander 598

I tried resizing it. It doesn't get small enough to not see anything.

I'm not sure how to use the commands since everytime you enter TM, you have to reopen the console which brings everything back.

Maybe if you could make a script that would enter those commands without you having to use the console or something like that...

I'd suggest taking a look at the intro/character creation process. Somehow, that does exactly what you're asking for. The only problem would be making it apply to the rest of the game, but I'm sure it could be done.

But that wouldn't remove it from a character that's already been through the beginning, so you'd have to start a new character for that mod. Of course that might not be a problem depending on how complete a mod this is. But would it be possible to have a script that runs every time you load a savegame that resets the available menus to what you have in character creation?

If you want the map to disappear in a dungeon: Take large rocks and size them up. Place them above the interior you have created. The player will still see doors, but what he or she explores will only show a dark rocky surface. So if you do a labyrinth, the player might see where the door is, but not how to get there, wich could be VERY useful if you want to trick the player :D

Ghor out

Sounds interesting, Ghor... One could place a single, gigantic ex_v_foundation over an entire dungeon and wipe out the map... It'd make out for a long, but potentially interesting, dungeon crawl. Maybe someone could even make a plugin in which this process is used in all of Morrowind's interior areas, making it so that you only have the map for exteriors.

So then if anybody can withstand all that tedium (placing a foundation thousands of units above the entrance of every interior cell and doing a quick "SetScale 200" script on each and every one), there's certainly an audience of people that would want to download the plugin.
