Have a feeling he doesn't know much about vram or ram either. texture glitches = video card not having enough dedicated memory allocated to the game. without a video card, you can't see anything. how does the computer draw any pixels with no gfx card and no onboard gfx? it doesnt. thats why. vram is important for drawing textures.

I was tryna google it too, to help, most people seem to think its a memory issue, some times it is, sometimes its just a "bad install" of a mod, Im having an issue with bijin's aela atm, similar thing, very common problem but after having to do a complete rebuild yesterday im a little paro about breaking something else,

anyways, enjoy your now working game :P

It happens when you run out of video ram. Yeah you got something sucking up that 4gb vram you got there.

This is 100% the reason why ... If you have an ENB you can flush memory and if you're running low the skin will turn black on the spot. Even the best of rigs will not change this. However there are a few settings you can tweak in the SKSE.ini file and the ENBLocal.ini file ... Also you can try to free up as much memory as possible before starting the game.

i know this is old but... i was getting this issue and it stopped after reducing some of the papyrus settings closer to defaults. i'm pretty sure i was choking out my video time.

how would i do this? and i dont know where my skse.ini is..

The "papyrus settings" mentioned above probably refer to the "[Papyrus]" section in your Skyrim.ini. This file is found in documents/my games/Skyrim. It can be edited with any text editor - such as the basic editor that comes with Windows.

If you ask me, I'd remove all "Papyrus" settings completely from your "Skyrim.ini" - unless you really know what you're doing and why you want to change these values. Removing them will tell the game to use default settings - which will work just fine with most mod setups.

The SKSE settings can be found in Skyrim/Data/SKSE. Important setting when it comes to black body textures is this one:

[Memory]

defaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768 <-- if you got black body textures, raise this value in steps of 128 (up to 1280), until your problem goes away.

scrapHeapSizeMB=256 <-- Never, ever touch this!
