obmm_crashdump.txt

I have hit a brick wall in figuring this out and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my problem.

Recently re-installed Olbivion for some modding fun and downloaded my favourite mods, only to find that though obmm works fine after I install Oblivion (mods work when placed it it) as soon as I install shivering isles I get the error message:

"An unhandled exception occurred.

Extra information should have been saved to 'obmm_crashdump.txt' in oblivion's

base directory.

Error message: Access to path is denied."

Usually i'm fine when it comes to modding oblivion, and I have done this particular mod before but this new error has me stumped. I have uninstalled it and obmm a number of times to trail what might be wrong but I only get the message after Shivering Isles is installed.

Which is particularly annoying since some of my favourite mods require Shivering Isles to play. I will keep playing around with it, but if this makes sense to anyone I would be very grateful.

I'm not entirely sure by the wording of your post but it sounds like you're installing Shivering Isles after other mods are already present? I suggest installing Oblivion, followed by any Official DLC and make sure you have your game updated and patched to the correct version. Check the official site for more info. Then install additional mods. You may already be doing this and I read it wrong, please correct me if that is the case.

OBMM is a separate program that runs outside of Oblivion. When you start the game using the launcher built into OBMM, it passes the load order information into the game, closes OBMM then looks to see if OBSE is installed. If it finds OBSE, it starts it, and OBSE starts Oblivion. If it does not find OBSE, it looks for the Oblivion launcher to start the game.

My first guess is you have the Oblivion Only patch installed - Sometimes you must actually reinstall the entire game to get the Oblivion+Shivering Isles patch With the same version number to work.

Second Guess, UAC (Vista & Win7 only) is blocking the OBMM.

Third guess, You do not have OBSE, or you have an older version of it.

I have the same problem, I installed oblivion with dlcs(including Shivering Isles), placed OBSE .dll files and the .exe file with the data folder in the main directory, the OBSE launcher works and the mod manager still comes up with this error. My game version is 1.2.0416. I have windows 10. This shouldn't happen.
