For an FCOM topic you didn't give us much information but I'll attempt to point you in the right direction. FCOM is a difficult installation to properly setup and ensure stability. One of the key components is definitely the Bashed Patch and Wrye Bash. So in short yes you need to properly setup a Bashed Patch on top of correct install procedure and load ordering. Let me link you to a couple very useful sources of information regarding FCOM. I suggest you read these thoroughly or you'll end up with a huge FCOM headache and hate Oblivion, which can all be avoided by reading documentation and taking your time. If you're not prepared to put in literally hours of reading to ensure proper installation and stability I suggest you remove FCOM and try something more simple, like T.I.E. Which is also an excellent yet simple Overhaul.

Here is a great resourse, FCOM: Convergence.

And here is a FCOM FAQ, Tes4MOD:FCOM FAQ @ UESP.net.

Enjoy.

well it doesnt say you must is why I asked, I have everything loaded and I have ran the game with no crashes so far, I started with a clean install.

I have everything based on The FCOM instruction minus the bash. I look in the wrye bash list and certain esp files give bash info in the description and I run boss that gives info as well.

I just dont want to bash something and mess everything up. I dont think bash is a hard process just not very familiar is all

well it doesnt say you must is why I asked,

By gosh you're right

it doesn't say the bashed patch is required

but then again it doesn't say that OOO or MMM is required either

but all three are all over their official site in the instructions for installing.

Guess its up to you to decide what to install.

Actually it does say Wrye Bash is needed on the site I posted from Dev/Akm, FCOM: Convergance. If you scroll down to the Requirements section Wrye Bash is the very first thing mentioned. Then if you keep scrolling down to the Installation section there is more info, here is a direct quote:

Bashed Patch

The Bashed Patch creates the real magic behind FCOM. Without it, none of these big mods will work together. It's also one of the most intimidating aspects of FCOM for many users. Fortunately, it's really not as complex as it may seem at first. With a little bit of patience and reading, you can master it.

So unless I'm missing something or misunderstanding the meaning of Requirements then yes it does say a Bashed Patch is needed for FCOM to work properly. I suggest reading my previous post, since I guess you decided to skip the links and information before, and use the information provided. They will lead you through the installation and much much more.

I've offered all I have here. It's now up to the user to follow the information presented to you. Good luck.

Okay this will be my last response to this thread since you're ignoring the information I've given you. Right now I fell like this: :wallbash:

Again I will link you to FCOM: Convergence. You must read this information and follow it which obviously you are not. You replied less than 20minutes after I linked you to great information when there is hours of reading to do for FCOM to properly work. You have to put the effort in if you want this to work, no one can hand you FCOM on a silver platter and it magically work. By the way I've found the answers to your questions within minutes so I know you're hardly trying, if at all. Yeah I know you're not wanting to hear what I just said but it's true, you're not trying. Now slow down and put some effort in this.

FCOM Requirements and Installation

FCOM is somewhat challenging to install and configure, but the entire process is documented extensively here. If you're doing this for the first time, start with:

* First-Time User Install Guide (aka FiveFries FCOM Cheat Sheet)

Please read through all of the instructions on this page and the First-Time User Install Guide before you start. Everything will go much smoother if you do this. You've been warned!

That quote is very near the top of the page and includes a hotlink to a * First-Time User Install Guide.

One last thing, I'll quote my very first reply in this thread. "I suggest you read these thoroughly or you'll end up with a huge FCOM headache and hate Oblivion, which can all be avoided by reading documentation and taking your time. If you're not prepared to put in literally hours of reading to ensure proper installation and stability I suggest you remove FCOM and try something more simple, like T.I.E. Which is also an excellent yet simple Overhaul."

Good day.

Dude I followed it all, everything is installed correct. I just had questions about the batch. You dont need to keep posting that link, I had it before I started the topic. I had a non installed mod esp in my bash patch I guess I missed it when I cleared out everything during the bash. Which caused the pink color bash patch. I was just wondering about the need to do it since my game started up with no issues after I installed per the the guide from FCOM.
