joehempel
So I've decided to go ahead and play this game, and I'm seeing all sorts of problems with Windows 7 x64 from reading the forums and such. For my system, I can't even start the game. I use admin rights, it just crashes. I've tried different compatibility modes, same thing. I can't run the patch for 1.7 either, it crashes when it launches the game. The game is NOT installed in the Program Files directory, it's in the C:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout3 folder. No mods, no nothing, just doesn't run stock. It's driving me crazy that they couldn't create a game that would work on Win7 when the OS was out when the game came out (at least I think). Any help would be great! I should also I add I just updated all my drivers as well. This is the GOTY Edition, I did NOT install any expansion packs. Fonger
1 - did you install the second disk? - if so you've installed the DLC - there are NO expansion packs for this game - only DLC 2 - did you update Games for Windows Live ? hidden requirement for the 1.7 patch that comes with the second disk of GOTY
anokii
And no - Win7 wasn't officially out yet when the game was released - with that said I run it on Win7 x64 without any problems.
