I never bought the Oblivion collector's edition. While the DVD and pocket guide to the empire are nice, the one item I always envied was the Septim coin. How awesome would it be to actually have a septim? Two weeks ago I was looking for parts for my 928, and decided to see if any of the coins had made it to Ebay. There they were - and at a reasonable (to me) price! I had to order one.

It's everything I dreamed it would be. Now I just need more excuses to use it.

 

Regarding the bill - its a printout of Meo's Paper Septims' 5 Septim note. They're amazing in game, so I had wondered what they would be like printed. I was unsatisfied with the printout - as the low resolution of the graphics files really show up when printed in actual size. Still it makes a nice prop here. I "weathered" it slightly in wallet

After printing this one (which is only one sided - due to my in satisfaction with the appearance), I decided that it would make an interesting project to create some actual paper septims. It won't be for a while (busy schedule), but expect something to show up in the future. I'm also very slow with graphics work - so it could be a very long time. On the plus side, the actual printing/currency simulation I should be able to do alright (I love to read about currency forgery, so I have a good idea about some of the techniques used to simulate real bills - which I think would legally apply quite nicely here).

Footnote: I do not condone or encourage actual currency forgery in any way - it is a crime! Do not attempt it! If you wish to make "fake" currency, go right ahead. Stay away from real bills though! Seriously, its not cool.

I used Meo's Paper Septims.

 

They're great in game but not quite high enough resolution for satisfactory bills. When I do my own set, I will release the files. Won't be for a good while though. :/
